OLDER MEN ARE NOT ATTRACTIVE TO WOMEN

Here is a thought.

Just the one.

What makes a man attractive to a woman??

It’s a cracker isn’t it?

I’ll tell you why I ask.
Men spend their adult lives trying to attract women and not one of us has a fucking clue do we?
Be honest, take the Fun God for example, if I had a £1 for every rejection I had had, money would never be an issue again.
For me, and many men, rejection is expected, when we get a positive response we are suspicious!

Why me?? Is the first question we ask ourselves and we immediately build barriers because we think there must be something wrong with you.

So what makes you say YES to a date, a meal, whatever?

I seem to remember a long time ago in the deep and distant pass a good looking and obviously not too desperate female honouring me with her presence and her body, I wish I’d asked why but, the answer may not have been the one I wanted, so I didn’t!!

Those of us no longer blessed with a gym toned body or of an age that women appear to want (check out the profiles and see how many want 45+.. very few), need guidance and advice.

We have experience, treat women with respect (most, anyway), have realised and accepted our limitations, are done with posturing and simply looking to share.

So, what’s wrong with us??

Don’t say nothing, look around blogland for men ‘of a certain age’ it’s full of them.

C’mon, tell us, what do we have to do to be attractive to you??

In the flesh as well as on the keyboard??

This could be interesting and informative. I hope.

Guys, give us your thoughts, am I right or wrong??

Hurry up, I wanna get laid, just had a taste and I think I like it.

I've always found humor, confidence (not cockiness) and chivalry incredibly sexy. And I'll say yes if I feel like there is a certain level of comfort with someone...on some level we've made a connection. I don't care about age. I've always BEEN attracted to older men...I'm not even sure what the age settings are on my profile...but I'm sure it's much younger than I would consider...Older men have a lot more experience, a lot more character, and a lot more life insurance!!

I think it might be psychological and the closer the age gap to that of their father the creepier it may become for some...well that is one perception...does your age search begin much younger than some would expect??

funintheday2006 replies on 7/31/2006 11:31 pm:
Oh, no I do not search, gave that up long ago. I do check out the occasional profile that comes up on the home page if the photo is attractive but, rarely, if ever, send emails etc.
Just from when I first joined the site I felt my options were very limited unless I wanted to bombard the unsuspecting female population here with emails they would just delete anyway.
I did not want to do that.

define your terms, friend - exactly what is an "older" man??? i'm 56 y/o, would love to meet the man right for me in the 48-61 age range, and i ain't old, i tell you!
on a related subject, not too many men in that age group have active blogs, lots of young'ns on this site, dontcha think?
was this any help, i hope?
ps - a man gets bonus points from me if he's tall

I have no problem with older men. My two best lovers are 55 and 58. Ok the one is two years younger but still an older man. They both keep the fire roaring for a loooooooooooog time.

My bottom limit is 45 top 58

I don't know what age group you're commenting on, but I'm a 45-year-old woman and I like men my age or older. The problem is that they don't behave as you describe...respectful or done with posturing. Also, women of all ages want men who take them out and spend a little time getting to know the woman before jumping into bed. I'm having a hard time finding that. Maybe a little compromise is called for?

funintheday2006 replies on 7/31/2006 11:35 pm:
Men should behave that way, if they don't they are not a man. IMO.
A hard time indeed hon, compromise is so difficult isn't it? Without compromising your ethics and morals I mean.

As Dee says... it's just that certain "click", and when you hear it, game over. I like tall men, hair isn't an issue, manners, wit, charm, intelligence. I've also always liked older men... young 'uns just don't do it for me!

Trust me, men are not the only ones who say "Why me?"... I've been guilty of that phrase too! What I see in the mirror makes me wonder what a guy sees in me!

to be honest, if they are like 60+ it makes me gak...sorry but it reminds me too much of my Dad. I tend to get emails from men under 40...dont know why that is...but older men are cool...so long as they dont wear dodgy old man pants, smell of wee, wear cardigans with wooden buttons, or remind me of my primary school teacher Mr Swann....other than that we're good!

And then its all down to whether or not i like em.....simple as. I dont have an 'attributes check list'.

Oh and if they like me...naturally! lol

Laugh lines; they go to show a sense of humor {sorry, humour! }, a sense of self, and some common sense {and everything else is basically extra, i.e. proverbial icing on the cake }. Compatibility: that click you talked of, and in general same range for our sex drives and needs and 'kinks'. That's pretty much the main thing{s} I look for -- oh, and no guys with privates bigger than 6 1/2" because it's such a waste, no fun for oral or much of anything else really, and I ain't built like a mare for no 'horse d***'.

Usually the older the man the more mature he is, and I look for that {so that he can be child like in his wonder of the universe but not childISH}. In my profile, I actually made sure that no one WOULD match my settings {it's set to 98-99 on age} because I simply do not want to be bothered with the immature skanky screwing juveninles {attitude wise, irregardless of age} that are on this site; I have it set as a 'must' for the age and for their nationality {set to 'other'} along with what they're seeking {'alternative activities only'}...which means...absolutely nothing, and no one COULD 'match'! If they had brains and read the blog they'd figure all this out; if they can't, then I can write back and say, "Sorry, but we're just not compatible according to the chart!"

funintheday2006 replies on 8/1/2006 6:59 am:
Ah, I did similar with my profile, put the buggers off, thats what I say.
I got more lines than the local supermarket, some laughter, some the scars of experience but, all good.
I can understand you not bothering with immature skankning screwing juveniles (correct spelling, you sared of blowing the server up again?) that are on this site> So, you ARE gay then

A sense of humor and the ability to make me laugh is a pretty sure bet for me to respond positively.
I have had contact from men aged 18 (wanting a teacher) to a gentleman in the UK who is 74 (needing a grand daughter, perhaps?).
I seem to get the most mail from men between 41-45. Once that initial contact is made, I want conversation. It doesn't have to be intellectual, at first..but have more to say than "yup" or "uh huh". Ask me questions, make remarks about what I am telling you, don't sugar coat what you are telling me...speak the truth.
I am currently seeing a 58 year old and a 44 year old. I am near 42. Both are incredible lovers. I am not seeing them based on their age, but rather, how they treat me.

funintheday2006 replies on 8/1/2006 8:27 am:
The recurring theme appears to be lack of proper initial communication failure from the men here.

Aah, so many responses regarding age.
I think my profile says it all about what I want in a man.

"Those of us no longer blessed with a gym toned body or of an age that women appear to want (check out the profiles and see how many want 45+.. very few), need guidance and advice.

We have experience, treat women with respect (most, anyway), have realised and accepted our limitations, are done with posturing and simply looking to share."

What is your age limit? I find a lot of crass e-mails in my post from men younger than my daughters-but then again, I have chatted with a few bloggers who are much younger than I and I find them thrilling.

I think it's a sad world when the older man wants to be seen hanging around with a younger woman just to inflate his ego!
Not that I'm saying you are my friend.

Whatever floats your boat-go for it.

funintheday2006 replies on 8/1/2006 8:51 am:
I think I may have explained myself badly, personally I do not date what I would call 'younger women' and my ego is overinflated anyway and requires NO assistance
I don't judge a woman on age but, I do have a lower limit for practical purposes, ie long term relationships.
That being said I know it's common knowledge that Sandy has a 'thing' for me and I do pop and see her occasionally to fulfill her fantasy of an Adonisified older lover

Hi Fun,

My profile says...seeking for professional(white collar), intelligent(wise and open minded),non-judgemental(over righteoous),medium build (not slim or athletic), tall, ages 42 to 53yrs., appealing to look at(not superstar), emotionally and financially stable (not wackos and homeless), a man who has presence. This covers a lot of ground and not necessarily that he must have all of this...just a guideline.

I read once (yes, really) that the 'best' age for a woman is half the man's age plus seven years. The chance of making that theory work on this site is nil, on almost every woman under 40's profile there will be a little red X in the 'your age' box when I check it!

Just because we're over 40 we're not 'past it'! Well, I'm not anyway!

The women that I have chatted to / met have, as one, complained about the lack of courtesy & politeness from some of the men on this site, their lack of spelling & grammar has also been mentioned. What do these people think they are doing, trying to 'sell' themselves to a complete stranger and doing it so badly? What if they behave the same in real life?

THEN they bitch about their lack of success! I wonder why?

Worryingly normal, Frighteningly sane and Intriguingly different!

funintheday2006 replies on 8/1/2006 8:54 pm:
That works for me 30 would be the optimum for me although personally I see it a s the kower level for age.
You are right about bad manners and the need to make a first impression. Men are outnumbered here around 15 to one, look at all the blog comments. Ladies get so many more because the men are constantly trying to vy for position.
Spell check I never use and I type like an elephant. However, I am not trying to sell myself on this site, went there, not comfortable so decided to hang out on the blogs and make mates.

For me - laughter, sincerity, don't overdo the compliments or they are no longer believeable, a brain, brown eyes, dark hair, nice hands, look good i.e. not like a tramp !!, smell good but not overpowering and hopefully taste good too !

Oh and a pair of peaches in nice fitting jeans REALLY helps too !!!

Boastfulness (especially that you are going to send me home with a smile on my face - how the fuck would you know what makes me smile ?!?!), that old line about bring able to breathe thru your ears (dull, dull, dull and long past its sell by date !!) and someone that looks like they got dressed in the dark are BIG turn offs.

I've hooked up with two men since I joined AdultFriendFinder, and both were 45+. Both were fantastic (one still is). The point is, I made a decision about them based on their personlities and the connection I felt with them, not their ages.

Older men have experience, humour and a degree of self-confidence that I like, and I'm also in e-mail correspondence with a number of others who seem to think it surprising that we chat, because they are not in the "right" demographic. Bollocks to your theory that older men are not attractive to women - women with brains and intelligence know to look past the age bracket. The more you try to market yourselves to some ideal you think we are looking for, the less I - speaking entirely personally - am interested.

By the way, I saw a birthday cake the other day decorated with Nemo. My children were enchanted by the cake - I burst out laughing when I saw it, as the very first thought that went through my mind was: oh look, Fun's cock on a cake.

On the other hand, an 18 yr old may be just fool enough... I mean, there might be a better chance of an 18 yr old just wanting any experience that's new. Also, does it matter to an 18 yr old whether a man is 58 or 48? It's all so far away.
I have to admit that an 18 year old has more appeal to me now than when I was younger....Once an 18 year old threw herself at me, but I didn't want her because I thought she was too headstrong and immature. If it were today, I would probably be a lot more indulgent and appreciative.
