DO YOU DO IT?

I have had a lot of alcohol this weekend.

It is not usual for me to drink so heavily every day but, I am fortunate in that I do not suffer the hangovers that most people do.

Now I will not drink again until I have a glass of wine at the weekend.

Tell me:

Is it wrong to drink heavily occasionally?
Do you?
How often?
Do you suffer afterwards.
Do you avoid alcohol altogether?

Hey check out the cool blog steel_legs I think you will love the writing style.

Is it wrong to drink heavily occasionally? No. As long as it is OCCASIONALLY
Do you? Very Rarely
How often? Maybe 2 or 3 times a year...and ALWAYS with a DD.
Do you suffer afterwards? Nope, I'm lucky that way
Do you avoid alcohol altogether? Obviously not.

Is it wrong to drink heavily occasionally? No
Do you? Sometimes
How often? Maybe two to three times a year
Do you suffer after wards. Not very often
Do you avoid alcohol altogether? No I like a glass of wine or two at the weekend

I think 'binge' drinking on a regular basis cannot be good for you, but the occasional heavy session is ok. The last public holiday of the year seems to bring out the worst in me, I really drank too much this weekend.

Like you though I won't bother now until next weekend, and even then I may not bother.

Is it wrong to drink heavily occasionally? Depends on why you're doing it. Troubles seem to have Red Cross Training in Swimming.
Do you? Not really; can drink like a fish {NOT 'a fish' so don't start with Nemo!}, so really what's the use?
How often? Wine with some dinners, not all, that sort of thing.
Do you suffer afterwards? Actually, the more I drink the more 'sober' I seem I have been told; go figure! Maybe it puts some of my personalities asleep or something? I have drank half a casino bar in under 16 hours as well as half of a local bar at different times; no hangover, no dehydration, no afteraffects, but still sober.
Do you avoid alcohol altogether? No; nothing like a complimentary wine to enhance a great meal.

funintheday2006 replies on 8/30/2006 12:25 am:
Excellent point on troubles, for you that was quite lucid. Well, fairly understandable anyway.
I would suggest that threason you seem more sober as you drink is that you are a bitch git to start and just become incoherent with drink.
Grab a rioja and find food.

Is it wrong to drink heavily occasionally? Depends was there a population boom 9 months later?

How often? Got to the point of nearly every other day

Fortunately I can count on one hand the number of times I've been so drunk I don't remember how I got home, etc., but I'm not averse to a bottle or two of wine... shared, of course!! Never been ill afterwards, or had a headache - pure luck, I guess!

Having alcoholics for parents does tend to make me more wary of the pitfalls (that'll be dad and step-mother), and my mother runs her own pub, where I get to see the effects at close range! What's even funnier is that the pub's postcode ends with "AA"

That said, there is nothing wrong with a nice drink at the end of a long day, so long it doesn't become a habit and a "pick-me-up"...

Is it wrong to drink heavily occasionally?

I think it unsafe, unhealthy, and unwise to put anything in one's body to excess.

Do you?

No, not in a very long time.

How often?

See above.

Do you suffer afterwards.

When I did get drunk, I suffered afterwards.

Do you avoid alcohol altogether?

No, in fact I'm having a beer right now.

funintheday2006 replies on 8/30/2006 12:29 am:
I dont do the excess thing very often. At night when I drink after a meal, usually one glass of wine, 2 max.

I don't drink often any more. I am always concerned about K and what would happen to her if something happened to me. When I do drink I make sure she is safe with friends and then I have very little to drink.

I almost never, ever drink heavily, unless alone or with someone.

As a hangover is caused by the process of the body detoxifying the alcohol, I never have hangovers. Ergo - I'm constantly drunk, which is fine as I am a commercial airline pilot.

You are a nosy bugger aren't you?

I've only been drunk once in my life and had a HORRIBLE hangover afterward...so never again! lol

I drink on occasion...but moderately.

I was married to a man that drank too much on a daily basis...so I tend to avoid those who do that.

What you do with your lifestyle is your business. Personally I don't drink alcohol much, maybe 3 to 4 times a year on a binge, otherwise I'm not much into drinking alcohol.
Nobody should judge anyone by what they do in their private time same way as I judge nobody unless they mess with my integrity.
Anyway, take care Fun_God {=}
Enjoy life while you can whichever way you see fit!

This is a good topic and a subject that is important to me unlike emoticon discussions haha.

I stopped drinking around 4 yrs ago. I am not an alcoholic. I stopped for many reasons.

Alcohol abuse is a deal breaker for me. I will not put up with it. The exception would be if I was already involved with the person. I would rather be alone than be with a heavy drug abuser.

I dont care who I offend with my words.

I think 'wrong' is the wrong word when it comes to drinking heavy.

You drink heavy. You have a problem. The odds are if you dont get killed in some sort of accident, you will die prematurely because of it.

Steve

funintheday2006 replies on 8/30/2006 12:38 am:
I agree that it is unwise to expect a good relationship with a constant heavy drinker Steve. These are people with a health problem, the post wa more about those who occasionally let their hair down and go a little over the top. I confess to being a bit daft like that!

Not unless everyday is an occassion.
Do you?
NO
How often?
I don't get drunk because I get pregnant when I do.
Do you suffer afterwards?
I've had a few hangovers in my time.
Do you avoid alcohol altogether?
Pretty much. I'm too cheap and it's too expensive to buy just to have something to drink.

Is it wrong to drink heavily occasionally?
It's a big OK, if not invading others in the pubic and putting urself in a awkard situation next day.

Do you?
One of the two best ways to relax myself and release pressure from stressful work. It's a need of social life, and a good enjoyment in a modest rate.

How often?
humm...i do take break.

Do you suffer afterwards?
Only happened once i remember, suffered great pain after taking beer, wine and liquor in turns. All in all, it helps me have long tight sleep.

Do you avoid alcohol altogether?
No reason for me so far to close that door, dine with wine, jazz with wine, isn't it wonderful!!!

BEER, WINE AND SPIRITS?? Guaranteed suffering! Helps me sleep sometimes too, I try not to use it for a relant too often though.
