The ravages of age

The smiling face pumpkin has aged for a full week. It has gone quickly from a young healthy specimen to an old, grouchy looking, oozing face that is barely recognizable as the youthful face it once was. It is a strange dichotomy of life that we now celebrate Halloween as basically a children’s holiday and yet we continue to hold onto the basic influence of remembering the dead who or neither in Purgatory or Heaven but are damned. I guess that all of the modern holidays that are based on traditional ones have the same issues. Don’t get me started on Christmas…

Ha, I would much rather celebrate Mexico's Day of the dead, do it here and they would haul you away to the loony bin. So what are your thoughts on Christmas, anyway???

Well not really going to it too much I have a problem with the amount of pagan symbols used by religious people with no thought to where they come from. This being said I am not allied with either the religious folk or the pagans, but I lean toward the pagans. Don’t want to really get into it much first we will have to dive into the fiery depths of THANKSGIVING.
