The hunt

Some ask why happily married people are out here looking for more. I have a few ideas. I used to love to go dancing and became quite good at it. I didn't really love to dance, but I found out that women love to dance and it was an easy way to get close to them. An ice breaker if you will. Now that I am married, I don't like to dance so much.
Nothing makes an adult as giddy as a school girl as the pursuit of another's affection. Similar to hunting (but without the killing part) there is an extreme excitement that comes from the steps of spotting a beautiful creature, watching it, following it, trying to put yourself in it's path, anything to get closer to it. Then if you are successfully, you mount it! Then you can reflect back at this moment for the rest of you life with pride and excitement. The only problem is that you can only "hunt" that particular creature once. Rarely do you see a hunter taking a shot at an already mounted animal. This doesn't mean that there is no love or excitement or fondness for that creature, just that the hunt is over. Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not a murderer, stalker, or any other malicious type of person. I just enjoy the pursuit of beauty without knowing what the outcome will be. Will I get slapped, kicked, ignored, winked at, loved, mounted? Hopefully the latter!

I know exactly what you mean... the thrill of the pursuit or being pursued -- it is a feeling that cannot be replicated in any other way.
