“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ‒ Matthew 28:19-20

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” - Romans 10:14

The collapse of personal missions is perhaps the greatest tragedy and atrocity in the Christian church today. It is a tragedy in the sense that we have lost the love and passion that enables missions. It is an atrocity in the sense that it is our own direct fault that tens of thousands of people are going into a Christ-less eternity every day. Far too many Christians think that Jesus’ Great Commission only applies to “professional church worker”, or that they can fulfill their duty by donating a few dollars to a mission society. But Jesus demands more than that, and we should be demanding more of ourselves too. The Great Commission- “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”- is a personal command given to every single Christian, and there is nothing more urgent. People are dying- and we are the only ones (with God’s grace) who can save them. If somebody was dying of a disease and you were the only one with a cure, wouldn’t you help them? Then why do we view this any differently? The souls of countless people are on the brink of an eternity apart from God, and here you are sitting comfortably at home or at work, reading an online devotional. We have been called to more than that. So stop wasting time here, get up, and go tell somebody about Jesus.

Dear God, Forgive me. I have failed to be a light and the salt to the world even when You have specifically given me the opportunity to do so. I care more about my own personal spiritual development than I do about the souls of millions who are going to hell- because we as a Church have failed You. Holy Spirit gives us all the gifts that we need to accomplish God’s will in our life. Increase in me- increase in Your Church- a true passion for the lost. Raise up an army of evangelism, Lord, and start with me. In Jesus Christ’s holy name I pray, Amen.

maybe your god gave you this mission; mine gave me a different mission, which was to expose all the lies in this blasphemy, and to liberate humans from chains -- all chains, including religion -- that bind them. btw, i think you wandered into the wrong site ... nevermind, it's all good... ... the roads to freedom are many, the ways of god are many, monocultures are stultifying!

AMEN! Maybe in our disappointments, illusions, and internal hunger,
we will realize how truely blessed we all our, and our whining of things to be begin with us reaching out. "We are called to serve and not be served" The rage of depression state swiping the land reminds us of our consciousness to look far beyond ourselves. To grow and be the people HE wants us to be. Its far more than we can image.

"What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? You want something and you don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of my God. Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit He caused to live in us envies intensely? But He gives us MORE grace. That is why Scripture says: 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.' Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded... Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up." - James 4:1-8,10

There is a worship song that many of us have been singing at church that carries a strong anointing; the words seem to deeply touch the hearts of those present. The words are as follows:

'Open the eyes of my heart, Lord. Open the eyes of my heart. I want to see you, I want to see you...To see you high and lifted up, shining in the light of your glory, pour out Your power and love, as we sing...Holy, Holy, Holy,...Holy, Holy, Holy...I want to see You!'

So often we are so caught up in our "Battles", our "Quarrels", and our "Strivings" that it becomes a dark cloud that over-shadows the very presence of God in our lives. We say, "Lord I want to see You" ... and we think God is just being silent, yet we don't recognize that we have become entangled by our own selfishness and sin and have thus shoved God right on out of the picture!

God will not settle for second best, He will not settle for a heart that is divided between the ways of the world and Him. We cannot wear garments of shame and glory at the same time! We must choose. There is one thing that we must learn….submission to God is not a position of "weakness", but one of great strength!!!

Being submitted to God requires a key ingredient on our parts..."humility". And this means laying aside our agendas, our desires, our selfish ways, our fleshly desires and how we think things ought to be done. We have to come to the point where we can see that the world does not revolve around us, but ONLY around HIM! We have to come into His presence ready to not only listen, but also truly hear, and then act in obedience.

As the above verse states; when we submit, the devil has to flee! All the wiles and temptations of satan that seem so formidable disappear like a puff of smoke in the presence of a Holy God. When we will open our hearts, and submit ourselves fully to Him... then we will begin to see Him and hear His voice clearly... Lift up your heads O Ye gates that the King of Glory may come in! Open the eyes of our hearts Lord! We want to see You!
