Don

I was perusing my favorite haunts in Blogville when I came across Straightten's [post 127295]. I was enjoying the imagery and the kind and amusing comments that followed until I hit 634694u.

"Sorry to the Frogger, I don't know why, but, she just doesn't do it for me"

Hmmmmm, I thought to myself, how could I POSSIBLY not do it for someone! After my initial jolt of disbelief, I rationalized that there are bound to be at least a handful of people out there with no taste. OK, OK.

Then I decided to do a little investigation of Mr.634694u. If you read a prior post of mine then you know that nothing piques my interest in a guy quicker than an insult. Tapping into all my skills as an information specialist, I came across a note to me from Mr. 634694u. Ah ha! I discovered that Mr. 634694u no likey liberals.

That isn't the first time I've been personally attacked because of my politics...and in a blog of all things! Now, don't get me wrong. I have come across plenty a decent republican. I can personally thank this site for completely altering my views of the right...at least some of them. Living in Texas, I was pretty much limited to them as far as AdultFriend encounters. But then of course a few bad apples had to come along and renew my former opinion, which I will refrain from detailing to maintain the peace.

I realize that it's difficult for the right to come up with logical arguments to defend their opinions, but stooping to personal attacks? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Come on guys, find some other way to vent...it's pathetic!

Post Script: Before you guys draw your claws, keep in mind that this post was largely tongue in cheek. Yes, I realize that I don't "do it" for everyone. Yes, occasionally the right makes sound, logical arguments. But I stick by my stance that assholes who attack you personally based on your beliefs should get a life.

P.P.S: The shirt reads:

Democrats are Sexy
Who ever heard of a great piece of Elephant?

Things to be Happy About:

Nicey-nice Republicans
Strong Democrats
Non-squished Raccoons (esoteric)
Independent Women
Men in Baseball Caps

My favorite political T-shirt:
"I'm a Democrat. You're a Republican. Let's be friends. I'll hug your elephant, you kiss my ass."

From Tina Fey, head writer for SNL:
"A recent poll shows 66% of Americans think President Bush has mishandled the war in Iraq. The other 34% think Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs to church."

Kermit, I had a guy look at all my sexy photos one time, and we went through several days of them. He talked about wanting to meet and all that crap then three days later he told me that my body just didnt do it for him.

The only thing I know that I did to tick him off was the fact that I was talking to other men at the same time as him. Hell we had nothing going on and he sure as hell didn't own me. I told him that in looking back at his pictures his face and blonde hair didnt do it for me. And it took more than a big cock to make my juices flow.

But those are the kinds of men, I now ignore because I know what I am and I dont need any drool to tell me otherwise, nor do I need them falling at my feet. This is a big world and heaven knows I will appeal to a lot more men than just the one who thinks I just dont do it for him. Keep your head up girlfriend, You have it going on.

btw, I thought I would have gotten a lot more comments than I did on that blog, but I didnt, I guess I dont do it for a lot of them either, lol.. who knew?

I am the real deal! "Come Get Me!!!"

Frogger, You do it for me, and my Mom would love you.(last post) I lived in Colorado for 6 years and the extreme right and good ol' boys drove me nuts the way they thought. I liked them as people just how they viewed things made me go WTF! I know Texas is probably even more right than Colorado is. That's why us Cailfornians spred around to other states. Locals instantly disliked me when I told them I was born in California. After two years I told them I'm a local now and would not get into details. Maybe it's time for me to infect another Country with Californiaism. (here comes the hate mail)

Frogger I totally agree personal attacks are sloppy and pathetic. If some people cannot find anything better to do then sling mud, then they should go back to the playground.

XTheJesterX: I felt like writing in a vote during the last election 1) I lived in TX so it didn't matter anyway. 2) I can't stand Kerry.

....ha, ha nice try!

WildWon1982: Very Funny. I think SNL is a safe environment for that. I'm thinking of starting my own collection of political Tees.

digdug41: everyone does have an agenda. I certainly have mine...A socialist in the White House by 2016!

DrKink4nastyFUN: Good one! I haven't seen it before but I shall pass it on. There is actually a site that has really funny versions of a day in the life of liberals and conservatives. Each is an equal opportunity target. (liberal) ubersite(dot)com/m/67824 & (conservative)ubersite(dot)com/m/68407

straightten2002: thanks girl! I think 40 comments is a fair amount...even if one of them is my ranting. Keep up the good work.

caressmewell: Thanks, it bothered me for a split second. Then I came back to reality...you can't win em all!

gnr8nrg: Thanks. Houston is so diverse no one bats an eye when I say I'm from CA. In fact, most people I meet are from out of town/state/country. Still I must do my part to infiltrate Bush's base.

WildWon1982: I beleive you are right...an 80's theme song I beleive.

Frogger, I had the same thing happen to be but in reverse as I consider myself more conservative than liberal. I was having a great conversation for several hours with a lady once, when I made a comment stating I didn't agree completely with something she just said about the president but I thought it was funny anyway. After than I instantly got put on her 'republicans are scum' list and she wouldn't talk to me. I personally don't care what political, religious, social group someone belongs to as long as they are enjoyable to talk to or be with. Several of my exes were liberals through and through and those were the best relationships I ever had. So if this guy is judging you based on the way you vote then he's not worthy of the time you took to read his post.

reaper78664: Glad to see you're so open minded. Wish I could say the same about a lot of people (left and right).

AlbertPrince: A good idea. But I can't help myself. It's my one fatal flaw. I'm addicted to politics.

postingnick: Interesting point...I never thought of it that way. But then what does that say about the moms of the world ????

Dear Frogger,
For my sense of what I like and I don't, informed only by my taste, it blows my mind that anybody would say that you don't do it for them.

A friend of mine used to say that when an argument becomes personal, it means you won it. I have been a leftist all my life. But in order not to make a point too long in here, you should watched "Tierra y Libertad" (Land and Freedom) a Ken Loach film. I do not know if you know about him, but he is great. That film explains that one of the reasons the left (los rojos) lost the Civil War in Spain is because the different lefty factions could not agree among themselves... I think you would enjoy watching it.

For some of us foreigners, the left in this country is not nuanced as in other places. The democratic party would be a center-right party in many other countries. Communism, anarchism, socialism, marxism... many different concepts, historically and politically.

I love discussing politics, also in my older years I have got to like some, not many, Republicans. They make some times interesting conversations.
Yours, your wacko, Ewan.

ewan_1973: double points in your favor. I agree with the comment about the democratic party in this country. Unfortunately they feel the need to appease those pesky middle-of-the-roaders. I would LOVE to see a socialist in the white house (oops, I think I just lost a few fans there).

That is something that nice guys have been starting to notice. The jerks get attention and often the girl. That's why nice guys turn into jerks. I'm trying to add an edge without flipping over to being mean or an a-hole.

Another interesting poll: only 15% of the US population believes in evolution. No wonder it is so hard to change anything. People don't believe in it.

Sadly, the majority of people in this country believe Republican higher moral ground rhetoric without bothering to look at the facts themselves. I didn't like Kerry either, but voted for him just because he wasn't Bush. It wasn't that he didn't have ideas or that I believed the swift boat lies, he just didn't inspire me and he let the Republicans trash him without calling them on the bullshit. Basically, another spineless Dem. There are always great people running in both... correction most (I'd love the two party system to disappear) parties, but we always seem end up with the douche bag or a turd sandwich as our final options. (Yes, stole that one from "South Park").

We do need some socialist style programs, but not too many. I rather we cut the size of the federal government. For the most part is in too much crap it doesn't need to in and can't do what it should be doing effectively.

Guess you could say I like politics too. In a love to hate form of like.

Being a moderate myself, I have no real troubles with most folks, but here in the last few years, I've developed an intense dislike of far left Democrats and far right Republicans, but I truly despise the far religious right.

My opinion is that moderate politicians are the smart ones. They remain open-minded enough to accept intelligent decisions instead of partisan ones. Too bad we have so few smart politicians in office.

I see only one thing between you and myself, Froggie: a 10+ hour drive.

DrKirk: I enjoyed that treatise. Overall, liberals have good ideas, but the problem is that they need conservatives to check and balance them. Otherwise, they'd get a little too crazy...like the conservatives are doing now.

Balanon2: Big problem in this nation is that the Puritanical values we have are all fucked up. Your comment about the two-party system reminded me of something George Washington said in his farwell address. He said that a two-party system will be the downfall of this nation.

Love the T-shirt!!

There is no reason for someone to attack you personally.. part of what is wrong in this country is that people are to blinded by labels.. instead of listening to issues and arguments.. people jump to conclusions based on labels... very sad

bardicman: Lol. Good one!

Balanon2: Yours is interesting and worth a comment. I feel EXACTLY the same way about Kerry. If not for those louse "Dems" in Iowa things might have been different.

South Park had an interesting comment about your last point too. I realize that things would never work out perfectly with a socialist....but there needs to be some kind of a balance. Even the right has to see how screwy things get when one side has too much power.

AS for Ann...don't get me started.

Jobe00: Good points all around...even when you dis far lefties.

ewan_1973: You just have to proove you aren't...maybe I shall find out first hand one day.

NameIsRace: I like the tee as well Yes labels suck, even though I always label myself

DrKink4nastyFUN: I've always found it ironic that the rightist fundamentalists throw Jesus around like he supports all of their policies. I think Jesus would be appalled at some of the things that "Christains" on the right believe and practice.

When it comes to politics, I like moderation and intellect over party lines.
As I said, I don't like the far left or the far right. They get too locked into their ideals and seem like they have no acceptance of points of view other than their own.

I do however hold the far religious right (as represented by Pat Robertson) in a special place in my colon. Right now, they're the only thing I absolutely hate politically.

I do have to say I give points to George Clooney though. He's trying to get liberal stars to stop helping and endorsing liberal politicians since it's been doing more damage than good.

For a liberal living in Texas for over ten years now, this post was very therapeutic for me. A week or so after the election last Nov. a date I was on came to a grinding halt when I happened to mention voting for Kerry. I was more amused than anything though. It pisses me off though to hear right wingers use the word liberal as though it's a synonym for child molester. The post by DrKink was perfect at exposing the hypocrisy of that.
So I'm supposed to insult you now?! Hate to seem obsequious but I have a difficult time insulting a woman of such attributes. Just a weinie liberal I guess.
Thanks for the amusing and thoughful post.

While I rarely vote for republicans, we should take care to acknowledge the difference between a Republican (e.g. John McCain), a Conservative (e.g. Pat Buchanan, Bill Buckley) and a neo-con (e.g. pretty much everyone in the White House right now). Then there are the fascists, like Ann Coulter, Bill Bennet (who must have had a very[/] poor professor when he studied Plato), Dick Cheney, and Paul Wolfowitz. And being a fascist is not self-exclusionary.

That said, Frogger I'm jealous. You get all the hate mail, I want some too! I've written some pretty inflammatory things about Conservatives, Texans, the South, religion, Creationism... and I haven't received a single hate post. This, of course, makes me write posts that are even more incendiary.

Finally, on a pedantic note for anyone who is wondering about my capitalization, thinking I'm wrong... I'm not.
