Start with a rant? Why not?

Why does the brain race with thoughts right up to the point when they are going to be shared? Fingers on the keyboard...POOF...gone...staring at the screen...bit of drool down the corner of the mouth...then, all of a sudden...distraction from some crappy reality show on the television...more staring at a different screen...continuance of drool
Is it me, or does it seem that there seems to be less mental stimulation nowadays? Oh there's plenty of candy for the eyes, lot's of shiny objects to look at, but do we actually think about it? In comparing television with sex, (which are pretty much synonymous now =) ) TV programming gets right down to the intercourse. Wham, Bam, flashy explosion, thank you very much, tune in next week. Where's the foreplay? The teasing anticipation? I realize that there are always exceptions to the rule, (Lost comes to mind...a show that keeps you thinking and guessing) but the majority of programming leaves nothing behind...You're a zombie for an hour...show ends...(blink blink)...life resumes. Nothing applied, nothing learned...I don't feel any better about myself; I didn't improve anything, nor did I accomplish any tasks. But, dishes be damned, I am now one hour closer to bedtime, and I did get to see scantily clad woman running around, so I guess it's not all bad, right? Naked women on tv (HAPPY!)...See dishes...(sigh)... I think the only way to avoid this is to actually interact with other humans. Away from the unblinking eye of the television...it's watching us...wanting our full attention...wants our worship...wants sinks full of dishes, waiting for them to wash themselves...

...yeah, I really need to get out more...Now, if you'll excuse me, the commercial's over and there's some booty shakin' goin' on...(click)...(drool)...Mmmmm, boooty....
