Todays Lesson Boys and Girls.....

The meanings of arrogance and self-confidence ARE notably different.

Arrogance is: The act or habit of arrogating, or making undue claims in an overbearing manner; that species of pride which consists in exorbitant claims of rank, dignity, estimation, or power, or which exalts the worth or importance of the person to an undue degree; proud contempt of others; lordliness; haughtiness; self-assumption; presumption.

Self-Confidence is: Confidence in oneself or one's own abilities.

Most of the time these two things get confused because of their meaning. Notice the word UNDUE used in arrogance. THAT my friends is the difference.

Self-confident people can back up what they are professing. Arrogant people cannot back it up nor are they what they claim in the first place.

I can respect self-confidence...but arrogance is just a way to get you eaten for lunch by me. I loathe arrogance and anyone who is such will not last long in my book of friends......I am sorry to sound so harsh but hey, I am who I am....self-confident!
