The Beatles....oh yeah!

As I sit here listening to "Hey Jude" by the Beatles, I go back to when I was young and my siblings and I were waiting in the car for our mom. She was in the store and how we hated to wait for her. Hey Jude came on the radio and we started singing and whaling like we had lost our minds. The poor car was rocking back and forth and we were getting into it heavily when mom returned. She noticed people staring at us and the fact that all the windows were up, should tell ya how loud we were. I got the priveledge of doing the screaming sequence and I gave it my all. I had a sore throat for days. Yes, we got our butts whooped for embarrassing our mom. My dad, a Beatle fan to say the least, got quite the chuckle out of it. Was the whoopin worth it? You bet it was. And that is why The Beatles remind me of being young and carefree!!!

Sgt Pepper's was the first album I ever bought. Of course, Bob Dylan was the first I ever bought with my own money ...

There are two songs that still make my mother cringe from my overplaying the 45's of them:

Hanky Panky by Tommy James and the Shondells
Hitchin A Ride by Vanity Fair (omg and that JUST CAME ON THE RADIO!)

... and yes, I still have the 45's

Be nice to me.
I've been a bad girl

Remember, I'm used to having control
