Racism in blogland

Fellow blogger Toolntense just wrote a blog about this woman being racist on here. And I have to comment on it.

"Any distinction, exclusion, restriction, or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment, or exercise, on equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural, or any other field of public life."

That is the definition of racism. In Lamen's terms this means that one is ostracized for being different?? Different from who? Wherever you go there are multitudes of many races in one area....so whoever is the majority is the prime race?? Why is that?? We are people....period! I cannot fathom the organizations such as the Arian Nation, the KKK or anyone else. They fight for their rights to speak and gather as racist and in the United States this is allowed and PROTECTED under the Constitution .. Right to Freedom of Speech. There is a serious problem with that!!! They spew their hatred for someone different then them under our own laws. But, they generally will club a black man for doing his given right to do the same.

This is a vastly, enormous subject and it is one that will not be "cured" or solved in this forum. But, with all the blogs that I read, I see the "racism" more and more prevelant and it makes me sick to my stomach that we still have these imbeciles voicing their hatred in a protected state!

I grew up with a racist father. He would always say "That n***** is my friend...I do not hate black people"......and this rings in my ears and makes me wonder one thing......

"Then Dad, why did you call him THAT instead of just calling him a friend??"

This has got to stop! It hurts my heart to hear this shit!

Your dad had to differentiate between friends and thought you would remember which one he meant easier then if he used his name.Personally there is no such thing as racism, its just a subdivision of universal dislike. If u dislike some peeps you look for ways to get at them. These ways may be termed racist.
