Have any regrets?

I look back and think is there anything I deeply regret doing or not doing? And well, yes is the answer to both parts.

I regret not going to college right out of high school.

I regret allowing my father to convince me that I should go into the military and signing over custody of my daughter to him. Which turned into a year long court battle!

I regret throwing a piece of stone curb into my roomates windshield when she gipped me out of 560.00!

I regret not going to see The Who in concert cause at the time I had no clue who they were!

I regret not continuing my training in horsemanship and riding.

I regret not having the courage to stand up to my ex when he would slap me around and make me feel worthless!

But, I do not regret the fact that staying with him so long gave me the most precious thing in my life......my daughter!

I have many more but, why bore you?

Have any regrets???? Lets hear them!

Non, je ne regrette rien (thank you Edith Piaf).

free, I have so many that they've blurred into one big fat blob of regret...and as time goes on, the blob shrinks. Ingrid Bergman was once quoted as saying, "The secret to a happy life? Good health and a bad memory." (and thanks to you too, Ingrid...)

I shall try to limit my future regrets by making the most of the present.

Yes, I know it is good to always move forward and not let the past ruin your future...but sometimes it is good to reflect on the past just to keep your future in focus...know what I mean????

Thanks everyone for the responses!

In the back of my brain , I have a garbage can, just like the one on my PC. Every regret+ bad memory gets thrown in there,
and after 7 days, I empty the can.

If I didn't do that, my brain , like my PC, would be full of garbage , that blocks up system, and prevents it working properly.

Many years ago , im my dark ages , I met someone and read a few positve books, after that I wrote down all the things I wanted to achieve, my goals and dreams , and started ticking them off , the list is still very long, but some have been achieved , I also learnt not to worry about the things I could not change, and start on the ones I can,
I also made of list of all the wrongs I had done others, and started to try and put them right, and for all those that I couldn't put right, I try to do some good to others to make up for it.
It made me feel good !!

now get writing!!

Uncle Brian's advice column is now available in paperback at your local bookstore
