Blogging and the High School Mentality

As Efilnikufesin69 stated in his blog about the "POPULARITY" of the blogging, I am inclined to also say a word or two.

I do not care really when or if my pic shows up in the slots, nor do I care what my "ranking" is in the blogging that I do. But, I do care about the fact that this is turning into a popularity contest just like in High School. People are getting mad and making rude comments about others who have surpassed them on the listings. They are being rude to the person doing the passing and all that person is doing is writing in their blogs. THEY themselves did not put their faces up there!

Another issue is the rating system. "UNIQUE RATING" : Why???? So, if you have accumulated a following they don't count when commenting on your blog. That is ridiculous. THEY are the ones that MADE your blog a success in the first place. This is not Journalism 101. We are not supposed be getting graded on what we write but it seems as if we are. Our blogs are supposed to be a way to get to know each other and a way to express ourselves. Now that we are being "graded" on many people are actually expressing themselves truthfully? How many people embellish facts just to get that one extra "unique response?"

I have been with AdultFriendFinder for about a year and I adore coming here everyday. My blogging has become an outlet for me to get things off my chest, express my viewpoints and, in general, just have fun doing what I like to do...Write!
It has been turned into a popularity contest for high schoolers and I am tired of seeing and reading people that downgrade and ridicule others for their rankings. This is so HIGH SCHOOL!

Is this not an ADULT site????

I just wanted 2 agree with u on this matter. It's all so odd 2 me that all of a sudden THEY have made categories for 1 to fall into.
It don't make since 2 me why it was even started. Anyway, I will just ignore it, and keep reading what I like while posting when I feel like it. U r still gonna b 1 of the many I will read due 2 the fact I enjoy what u write and that is what matters. Msagro

Blogging is for the blogger. I write for myself, if someone else likes it, so much the better. If someone writes something I like, I comment. I never did like high school.

I haven't been blogging long, but I've noticed the same people commenting to me. I've gotten to know them. I like them. I think you're right, that's the idea. Get to know someone through their posts and comments.

There's a definite sense of freedom in being able to speak ones mind with a degree of anonymity.
