what would you do??

I would like to know what you would do if you ever won or were given a HUGEEEE amount of money. This after the nromal things, like a home, cars, taken care of bills, kids, family and such. What would you do for your fellow man?? How would you help out... ??
Me, I have always dreamed of setting homes across the US for battered women. Like apts. for them to have for a yr. Rent free. They would have to move to a different state and would be determined to get away from the problem forever. They would be given a fresh start. Free of fear, after awhile at least. Places that would be big enough for them to have their children with them, for them to have space to play, the women learn to cope, start over... And with them not having to pay rent, they could get their life back on tract and start over with out that worry. But they would have to be totally dedicated to the new life. And not endangering other women there by contacting the abuser.
I would set it up through the underground system, and other contacts. This is my dream.

TnT, that would be an awesome thing to have done. Set it up in the schools like a career option program. T

you have a great vision T. and a huge heart of gold. i hope one day you somehow have the resources (not neccesarily money) to make your dreams come true.

over the course of the last three years I've changed my mind a dozen times on the answer to this question. but currently i think i'd create an outlet for kids in their early teens to realize their dreams. a place for them to get inspiration from others to find out what they want to do, define the passion behind it, make a list of obstacles they will run into along the way, how to overcome those obstacles, and what resources they would need to accomplish this endeavor. give them encouragement in the form of reassurance that problems along the way are simply speed bumps, and that anyone whose anyone has met those same speedbumps in life, and came up with a way to overcome them.

somebody once told me this..."if you see someone on top of a mountain, they didn't just fall there."

BTW, when do i get a look at the pix?

That would be very nice. Any idea of what kind of business? I like the daycare idea, that is pretty cool. T

Good question and I have actually thought of this for years.
I would like to open a business that would employ single parent working mothers/dads. This business would employ as many as possible with a goal to make a profit that would allow the business to remain each year. In this is a built in daycare so that the parent could eat lunch with and check on their child during the day. Each parent would have a day in a rotation that rather than going to their desk, they tend to the daycare for their day, so it would be self supportive. In addition I would prefer the pay to be well above average, so the single parent families would not struggle to make ends meet. For the kids that attend school, there would be a pick up and drop off school bus that would ease the stress of getting the child to and from school and to work on time.

Those are very worth while charities though Thorval. And since you never know what kind of homes those kids are dealing with... It goes a long way in helping them. T
