The Human Heart

"Some people say we live in a world of irreconcilable differences. Others say a true peace - lasting peace - can't be obtained because we haven't found a way yet to change the human heart." - opening line in the movie End Of The Spear

But, there is a way the heart can change - it is only found when one seeks - when one asks - then the heart can be changed - and it is not by our will that the change is made - but, through grace. It is only through a power greater than ourselves that true inner peace can be obtained - because by nature - our hearts are dark.

Have you ever asked?
Do you pray?
Do you truly believe we are an accidental gathering of molecules?
The odds are 10 to the 40th power.
Do you have any comprehension how big that number is?
If you cover the state of Texas with silver dollars two feet deep - and there was one "marked" silver dollar somewhere in the midst of them - the odds of you reaching in and finding that piece of silver on the first try, while blindfolded - is 10 to the 17 power.

Do you truly believe we evolved from an original slime at the bottom of the ocean?

Love To You All, Fortuna

yes it is a power greater than ourselves fortuna....and it is a power that is called different names by different people but at the end of the day we all have the same hopes and expectations of that power...talk to you soon....HB2xx

Yes we do all have the same hopes HB - but, I know that expectations only lead to resentments - I do not have expectations - I can only hope that by grace my life develops a worth beyond the needs of my flesh.

I believe in that change, I believe in that grace you are speaking of, I have felt that change, that inner peace that comes from above.. no way we are created by slime were created for a purpose his purpose. I kinda feel like a hypocrite being a member here and being a believer but my flesh hangs on still, thank goodness for his grace and mercy now much longer I can keep testing it only He knows right now. Do you believe in that power, do you pray fortunswam?? have you been given, accepted that awesome grace of inner peace that only He can give?? Has your heart been enlightened??

I agree with, understand, and can relate to everything you said smooth. I used to pray ALOT and walked a path - but have slipped away - trying to find my way back.
I've been called - not all are. It is a story I only tell very few - and it has comfirmation.
So now I can no longer say I "believe" - but rather I "know" - BIG difference.
I am human too smooth - and have the same struggles as the rest. But, as you stated - only by His grace and mercy.

I believe that it's true that the heart can change. I do think that both will and grace (no pun intended) makes it happen. A person needs to acknowledge the need for change first and then pray for that change. If the will isn't there, then the grace can't come through. Does that make sense?

It makes perfect sense loveme. The "will" is evidenced when one seeks. Only when one seeks can His grace be bestowed.

Fortuna.....I believe....I know! Beyond a shadow of doubt. I pray...sometimes not often enough formally, but throughout the day almost as conversation. If you have been "called".....that is very special. As some have stated here, sometimes I feel like I shouldn't be here. Then it seems as if I am drawn back by so many that I have come to know and love.....as if I am almost their "Angel". Does that make sense at all?

fortunaswm replies on 7/8/2006 10:02 am:
I feel exactly the same angel - And yes you are an ANGEL to some of us.
I too know I shouldn't be here - and this morning finished my edit of "I Came For You - pt 2" - knowing this is not His will for me.
However - I too keep getting drawn back only because of a relationship and a friendship that has begun to develop.
But, as my struggle with alcoholism (shit - now the cats out of the bag) takes me into other dens of promiscuity - there too I occasionally talk of a diety that does not fit in such places. However - as one sot to another - perhaps someone is helped - including myself. And, it's a lame excuse, but Christ did not walk with the gentiles, but with the sinners.

If God did not will for your cancer to be gone - it would not be.
He has a plan for all of us - sinners and saints alike.

The funny thing is - How often do we hear the statement "hey, it's not my fault, I was born and no one gave me an instruction manual"

Guess again - there is an instruction manual - but no one reads it because it interfers with self - NO?

Keep the faith Lorain

Yes I pray, and no I don't believe we are here by accident...although I am unsure of the specific cause of our existence.

Welcome Lusty - thanks for visiting. I have my experiences and have learned from them - as we all do. I think in time we find the reason we're here if we walk with our eyes and our hearts open.

Again, thanks for the visit - I shall return the thought and drop by to say hi.
