Why in the hell are these Keywords?

Lately there has been alot of talk of keywords in some of my friends blogs. I wanted to bring attention to some of the words the site considers to be keywords. Some are very plain such as love, fuck, sex, anal, blowjob and whatnot. Then there are the weird such as fart fetish, male chastity devices, scat play, shit play and many others.

What I have issue with are two that are on my blog. I have no clue why the site would consider them keywords. In their own TOU they express that they will remove all content relating to them the words are bestiality, incest and I checked so was zoophilia. Now I was using them in a discussion as to why they are wrongful acts. Sadly it seems though that this site would find it necessary to allow people to search for those type of posts that would support it. I can't imagine what else they consider keywords. Hopefully not Pe*ophilia or other forms of abuse.

Now I am not against discussion about these topics. However I fail to see a reason for people being enabled to search for these subjects. Possibly enabling or explaining ways to go about doing these things. Is this how they show a no tolerance for these subjects I think not.

Just doing my part to keep everyone aware.

And people wonder why we get pissed off with the site & how its run.

Oh my it looks like one of my keywords will be watersports now as i said 'pissed off'.

I do feel that site management is all talk no action with offending members. Full of empty threats.

Apparently sending your email to another member in an initial email will flag your profile for review...i thought this was the case anyway & not just a new revision. Ive lost count how many men in the 6 months ive been here have given me their email ads & their phone numbers in an initial message. Ive been offered money for sex in emails yet nothing happens to the profiles.

How are we as honest & TOU abiding members supposed to feel over all of this poor quality & less than efficient service.

If keywords are used that break TOU no matter what the nature of discussion someone should read that posting. In your case it was in disgust of the allowance of such topics so it should be granted...yet your initial posting was denied. In the cases of the groups & questions that were highly disgraceful, offense & in breach of TOU they should have been removed BEFORE members saw them.

If we can type a keyword in to search topics...why cant staff do the same daily to police the forums, blogs, profiles & groups. Not that hard is it!!

Yet its left to members to have to request review to obliterate these obscenities.

I know many of us have become really frustrated over the site of late with the amount of fake profiles especially the one who even repeatedly comments on the CEO's blog. Surely this is the equivalent of a slap in the face yet he keeps coming back with new profiles & does nothing to hide who he is. He gloats & shoves his nonsense down everyones throats.

Nothing we can do really if we are standard members. But what can paid up members do...they dont even get a reply half the time when they contact customer services.

It is very strange. You'd think whenever they set up the programming or whatever for the keyword stuff they would have blocked certain words from being listed.

Why is bend a keyword?

Look, people don't just talk about this shit as fetishes. They talk about it as things that have happened to them. Which means, it is also conceivable that other victims might do a keyword search and find stories they can relate to, which can help them with recovery and opening up themselves, which is a part of healing. As you well know, people talk about these things.

To have them removed would be a kneejerk reaction. Someone looking for hot bestiality porn stories will see the post that has nothing to do with that and move on. It isn't going to look like you support it, especially when they actually click the link. However, if someone is feeling guilty that their father him or her as a child and somehow thinks s/he deserved it, if they stumble on people saying it's wrong, well...

I was under the impression from looking at my keywords that just about everything other than the, and, or, were keywords. I guess not, as your list is sparse.

I do agree with your point. Usually, people who go searching for those kinds of things aren't looking to find arguements AGAINST them, but rather FOR exploring them.

I'm all for removing them as KEYWORDS, but I wouldn't want them to be flagged as reason to deny certain postings. For example, I tried to submit my "Necessity of Consent" posting in the magazine as well, but it was denied. It was AGAINST pedophilia and bestiality.

On the other hand, if someone was to look up bestiality for curiousity's sake, I'd like them to happen upon my blog. Perhaps it might sway them in the right direction.

MissAnn: Perhaps you mistook what I was saying honestly I'm not embarassed to have those among my keywords. I do know when people look at it they will understand. I am just wondering why at all it would be a keyword they don't just put anything down as one.

As for my sparse list you rarely see me talk about sex. Just not a part of my blog generally though I can't see why bend is a keyword thats a new one. Why they chose bestiality and incest to be advertised is beyond me and IMO should be looked into. As you know I'm very against censorship but also I wouldn't want people to have access to stuff like that freely.

Phoe: I see this is a touchy subject for you. Though seriously I don't get why they are so slow on things given how easy it is to search for. I mean the posting should be flagged if it uses any of those words. At which point it should be reviewed pretty simple I would think. Alas though somehow things fall through the cracks in this site into the abyss of the forgotten till members point them out.

Real36: They chose which ones ended up on the list which is why it was puzzling to me to see such a choice of words up there. Beats the hell out of me about what they were thinking when they created that list.

Hippie: I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to search for such things at all. Just that it doesn't make sense that AdultFriendFinder would make those keywords. Like they are interesting topics that deserve discussions of pros and cons. As I see it there are no pros to any of those. As you know I wrote a post earlier attacking those keywords. They just have no reason to be such in my eyes. If someone wants to search for those words so be it. Hopefully they can learn from the postings in my blog and in yours.

I think the denial message on my previous comment is a joke by Flagg. I think my comment is actually posted for others to see, but these days you can't be sure about anything. lol

Hey Phoe, when I pull up this blog, there is a comment that I made that has the following posted on it in a yellow box:

"Your comment has been denied due to the following reason: Banned Topics (hate/weapons/under age). Feel free to submit a new comment."

Since I have never seen anything like this before, I assumed it was a joke by Flagg. If you can't see the comment, then maybe it has been denied and I am the only one who can see it because I posted it. I never saw anything like this before. In the past if something was denied, I got an email saying that it was denied and it would not be in the thread. Maybe times are changing and they have a new way of doing things. There was nothing in the comment to warrant banning. I will post it again later, if I find that it is not actually in the blog for all to view.

Hey Phoe, Here is the orginal comment with the notice that was on it in case you can't see it. I can't see any banned topics in it. If this were banned, it illustrates what Flagg and others have been saying.

When those subjects are allowed, a website becomes a venue for people engaged in those practices. The website posts a lot or fantasy articles on things like incest, pedophilia and bestiality. It may be fiction fantasy for those who post it, but for those actually engaged in these practices it becomes a reality. Those fantasies always seem to attract comments and discussion from them. The website becomes a support group for them and a place to exchange information. This website has not become as bad as NAMBLA website but it does seem that we do get comments from people who support the NAMBLA position.

It is up to the owners and management of the website to do what they want with the website. It is a business and they do what they do to make money. But I do find it odd that posts about bestiality are put up and posts that are against bestiality are denied. As the old saying goes, business is business.

Your comment has been denied due to the following reason: Banned Topics (hate/weapons/under age). Feel free to submit a new comment.

TMK: The site does soe surprising things tis amazing how many bugs there are. Yet we still come back day after day the only reason for it is because of the interesting people here. So perhaps they should start worrying about some of the better bloggers out there and listen to what they have to say. Elsewise it could start a mass exodus.

DBG: A convention smashing idea but where would we all meet and what would it be called AFFCon.

Header: AdultFriendFinder is doing the joking I don't remove comments from my blog even inane stuff from BRG and LLL gets to stay. They put the same yellow box up with on my blog a few days back on apathy and I noted it thats why I spoke with ***.

I couldn't see your past response header it happened once before with something SSS had said here. You are right and it is there business to keep whatever they want up. strangely though I think it is because we attack the sites moral agenda when we post against it. I suppose if instead we just took the stand against it without dragging the site name into it they wouldn't be banned. I would think honestly that they don't want to allow this kind of stuff as they would be inviting an investigation upon the members who post this crap. However I imagine that they might want to be subject to that as it would draw publicity to the site and there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Phoe and Flagg,

The exact content of same message that was denied was posted the second time. The original is still there in my view of your blog with the yellow box with the denied notice in it. But apparently nobody but me can see the denied comment. I guess that is part of the new blog upgrades. Go figure.

Funny they let it through the second time I wonder sometimes if the AdultFriendFinder censors do so randomly.
