Honey its not what you think I can explain really!!

There is a site out there dedicated to outing cheaters and lying men. Apparently they are getting sued by someone who was posted against on the site. The person just happened to be a lawyer who allegedly cheated on his ex-fiance. He claims that the site by allowing his full name in print followed by accusations of his infedility has destroyed his personal and professional character. Noting that potential clients wouldn't want to hire an attorney they didn't feel they could trust.

I don't know what to make of it whether or not he has a case legally. However I will state that the site has a great potential to be abused. Primarily by women who were scorned by a lover where they can indeed put false information and slander the person's character unjustly. The good thing about the site is when it is used to its potential on things that could be verified such as a person being married or having children these are facts that can be proven and are indisputable.

Heres a sample post from them:

WARNING !!! ALL LADIES BEWARE OF THIS NO GOOD CHEATING DOG. HE IS A PATHOLOGICAL LIAR. HE WILL DO ANYTHING OR SAY ANYTHING JUST TO GET INTO YOUR PANTS.ONCE HE GETS WHAT HE WANTS HE WILL NEVER TALK TO YOU AGAIN. HE IS ALL ABOUT GETTING ASS AND THATS IT.HE LIKES TO DATE LITTLE GIRLS.HE LIES AND STEALS FROM HIS OWN FRIENDS. HE CLAIMS HE HAS NO KIDS WHEN IN FACT HE DOES.HE EVEN GOES TO THE EXTENT TO LIE ABOUT HIS OWN RACE. HE WILL CLAIM THAT HE IS LATINO WHEN IN FACT HE IS WHITE. ALL I CAN SAY IS RUN WHEN YOU SEE HIM. HE IS NOT WORTH YOUR TIME HE WILL JUST RUIN YOUR LIFE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!

Ok other than the kids part how much of this is verifiable. Also while this is probably true who really knows. On top of the fact that she makes an assumption on how he will act with future women. How does she know he might change or he might just find someone he truly cares about.

Now before everyone jumps on me I'm just presenting that side of it. Surely a good portion of the posts are based on the truth. However alot as well are opinion and some just plain made up or guesswork. I mean surely women wouldn't take it lightly if say someone accused you of trying to get pregnant on purpose going as far as poking holes in a condom or whatnot.

What do you think of sites like this good or bad and should the site or the poster have to pay off the lawsuit if he should win the case?

to me the internet is just like the old party lines they used to have. someones always listening in and then passing on what they hear or see to another and another until its not even what was originally said and or seen by mable and gladys.
all sites have the potential for abuse, this place is a prime example.
i wonder what things will be like 200 years from now (providing north korea hasn't blown the world to smithereens)
imagine what alien life forms have put together from our drifting radio signals that have reached them. must be like "as the world turns" soap opera on a universal scale.
how primitive we are indeed!

Definitely room for abuse there. If I ran the site I'd slap a disclaimer on it "for entertainment purposes only" and call it a day. The thing I have to wonder about is whether anybody is using the site seriously besides the accusers/reporters. I'd have to wonder, if I were checking on a boyfriend on there, why I am with him if I can't trust him to begin with?

It's B-A-D, BAD! While I understand the anger behind those who would want to warn others, it can only be abused. Most of the people who hurt others don't do it intentionally. It just HAPPENS.
I am totally against true names being used. I am totally against the whole site, actually.

I would, however, love to see more pics of people getting caught in the act. Heehee I'm such a pervert!

Hey Flagg, a website like that is ripe for a court case. I am willing to believe that it is an offshore website beyond the reach of US courts or too expensive to sue in the country of origin.

In the US this would be a case of slander and liable very easy. When an individual is not a public figure, the burden is on the person who posted the information to prove it in court and I believe the motivation for posting comes into play.

It is one of the reasons that this website takes some pains not to disclose the real identities of a member in a posting. There is a disclosure of identity thing going on now in the Advice Line and blogs that I am interested to see what the website does. There is no slander involved but it is an interesting situation.

I know as one whose material gets printed in the press, I have to be very careful about what I write and all facts are checked before it goes out to the media. I am a big proponent of free speech. It is how I make my living. But free speech does have its limits in the area of slander and libel that every responsible writer has to always be aware of.

It is why when a divorces case is in court, only comments made in open court and in depositions are protected from slander and libel. Anything the parties say outside of court can subject them to a law suit because it is not protected speech if it is libelous or slanderous.

The website is not a good idea. If it is not based off-shore, I think eventually it is going to be party to a law suit.

Bad idea.

To be honest im indifferent.

If people want to play away from home they must be prepared to face the fallout when caught.

Id never visit a site as such nor would i do the dirty on a partner so id have no reason to look for sites like this.

But yes it is open for abuse to 'out' someone by a person scorned just to make trouble.

But so can any site. Anyone can get a photo & place it on to a site cant they, many do it on here. We then see in blogs & the Ad Lines were members start slanging wars on fellow members for no reason at all.

Anyone who would believe anything about anyone which was posted anywhere on the I-net is a freakin' fool and if there was anyway possible to put the screws to them for this "crap", I'd be the first to donate to that cause!

This is yet another way for the "liberated" elite to destroy the "worthless "seed" donors.

I guess you're talking about Girl, Don't Date Him. I've seen the site and yes, I agree, it has the potential to be abused. Especially with the news coverage it was getting a few months ago.

A few years ago, there used to be this woman who ran the ICQ Losers Page. She and contributors were always posting the assholes from ICQ who contacted them out of the blue and harassed for cybersex, in particular. She also posted their pictures and ICQ numbers. I ended up being a big contributor in the Green Card category. From early 2000 to the middle of 2001, I was getting LOTS of Pakistanis, especially on there. Then they stopped dead. She actually wrote to me after 9/11 to ask me if I thought all these green card guys were terrorists. Especially considering how they all stopped a few months before the attacks.

But one of the guys that was on the site found himself there. There was hell to pay. What if his wife saw the pictures he sent to strange women, who never wanted the pics in the first place, with him exposing himself on cam? Lawsuits were threatened and the site had to come down.

The site you mention will end up coming down too. Hell, I expect someone to sue to get Perverted-Justice taken down. They trap assholes who solicit underaged kids online. They have dozens of convictions, guys who contacted one of their people as they posed as a 13 year old in chat rooms. But I know one day, one of them is going to sue.

DBG: I wonder if the aliens don't attack us because they are afraid our infinite stupidity or if they just like watching us and laughing at the world wide jerry springer show we have become.

LS: I agree anyone could post there leaving whatever they want to say. Hell it could be a disgruntled friend who failed to get with the girl he has and puts that up there and tells her to look at it. Way too much room for abuse!!

Real36C: Well its mostly being used by people that just started a relationship. Also many people google names these days. Unless if you have a name like John Smith she is undoubtedly going to see that post come up.

Sexyeyes: Ouch thats too bad but you will pick the right one eventually. Maybe men should come with warning labels such as trust at your own risk or comes with 7 children and 2 wives. No names is actually a good idea just a place where women and men could vent their relationship woes.

Hippie: I totally agree with you besides making mistakes within relationships is a part of life. This kind of stuff shouldn't be aired for the public to view. Why can't people keep their dirty laundry to themselves.

Header: I think the site is definitely going to get hit hard. They have a disclaimer to hide behind but the whole intent of the site is to expose men. They are basically pandering to the females to post stuff like this. Promoting themselves as a way for women to avoid men. Dangerous...

Phoenix: I understand that people can post things like this everywhere. The problem lies in the fact the site promotes this kind of behavior by asking women to post these crude accusations.

SSS: I agree it may or may not have been started well intentioned. Although I am sure it has turned into a circus. Plus there is no way to prove speculative thinking such as he will cheat and lie to you. Everyone's experience with a person may be different and people do change.

Solar: Ah yes I hear exactly what your saying another place to put down the beleagured male species. You know if a guy started a site like this against women it would never work. Most guys wouldn't care what she had done in the past thinking that they will avoid that fate or just not care about it.

Fit: Indeed people don't think when they are jilted and become very ugly and bitter. Bringing up private stuff and even creating stories to make their side look stronger.

Thats a rule of mine as well never air dirty laundry.

MissAnn: Yes thats the site I posted it up originally it appears they edited it out for me.

Interesting about the ICQ website she more then likely was on to something there regarding the pakistani's. I wonder if any idiots actually helped these guys...

Of course it would be someone who is guilty who would get it shut down. The people who didn't do anything would never be the wiser lol.

i suppose even a site like Perverted-Justice could get taken down although I'm sure most of their stuff is verified. Something like that shouldn't be taken down I suppose though even that site can be abused...

I continue to see the 'outing' of 'bad' men on Craigslist. I suspect if it is slander/libel the man in question wouldn't have had so many complaints....
Me, I ask for 2 pieces of ID, a MAJOR creditcard, and a business card. Google is a life saver!!!!

While I can appreciate folks being warned about certain people, I don't think that site is a very good idea. As to the use of real names, they should be horse whipped.
Far to many people do things on the spur of the moment out of spite.
Words are rather like bullets, once fired, they can't be called back. They hit and they do major damage.

In the Good old USof A we used to be innocent until proven guilty. That doesn't seem to exist anymore. If someone calims you did something, you are guilty and must prove yourself innocent. Most tiems it is impossible to do.

In this case, what proof does she have? Sounds more like an angry spouse in a divorce court. I have to wonder just how much truth telling she did from the very beginning.

Ok I digress. Sorry.
Just don't think this is a very good idea to post peoples real names there and ruin there lives.
