Showers keep me sane

UPDATE: I've tried posting this damn blog three times and it keeps getting denied. I cannot see why. Can some one remind me why I voluntarily subject myself to the neglect, incompitence and abuse that is handed out by this site?

My Favorite Way to Shower:

I start by turning out all of the lights. If it is daylight, I shut the bathroom door and put a towel at the bottom to block the light that comes through the crack.

I start the shower, the water warm enough to be pleasant, but not hot. Over the next few minutes, I increase the temperature until it is as hot as I can stand it, hot enough that I can feel my skin sweating in the humid heat.

Without the interference of my eyes, I can feel every stream hitting my skin. I find that I know where every inch of my body is at without needing to see it. The water caresses me and tickles me all over as it runs through the fine hairs on my chest, arms, and legs…

Once my body is cooking under the water, I stretch out my back, neck, and legs. Then I turn my back to the shower head, let the water crash into my shoulder blades, cascade down my back and ass.

I wash with a gentle soap and a soft wash cloth. I take my time and hit every spot… some spots get more attention than others…

After I rinse away the soap, I start turning off the hot water in small increments, making it colder, getting adjusted to it, and then making it colder, until finally all the hot water is off and only cold water remains. My skin feels so smooth, so tight, when the cold water runs across it, and for just a second I can pretend that I am back home, that it is summer, and I am a kid again, under the waterfall at the local swimming hole. That water fall was good at washing away my worries and beating anger out of my system, and a cold shower really doesn’t do it justice, but it is the only substitute I have these days, and it is enough.

How do you pamper yourself? What do you do for yourself to relax?

As I read this I realize I couldn't take a shower in the dark unless I repackaged all my shampoo and conditioner. Lol. After all, the only difference in the bottles is the lid color. What good is that going to do me in the dark?

Now, in response to your question:

How I pamper myself depends on what I have planned. If I have company expected, I usually spend some time shaving myself (which tends to get me aroused seeing as I shave my kitty as well as my legs), then I take a hot steamy shower like I normally would (wash my hair, face, body), then I dry off and smooth lotion over every inch of my skin, dab perfume at my elbows and right in the center between my breasts. Then I primp. Depending on how I'm feeling that day, I might just comb out my hair and pull it out of my face and smooth on some moisturizer or go all out and style my hair and put on my makeup. It's odd but what I do everyday to get ready is a relaxation thing for me. I essentially do the same thing every day, except for the shaving.

Of course, at night, when I need to drain away the days stress, I love to fill a tub with hot hot water, add bubbles or salts, light candles all over the bathroom and soak for hours with a good book and a glass of wine (well, I bring the whole bottle in with me, but I do drink it out of a glass).

I lock the world out and soak in a hot bubble bath filled with scented oil.

I'd go into further detail, but I'm finding your shower a bit distracting. Maybe I could join you before breakfast...

Thanks for the tip DT. We need a bathtub big enough for two.

Nobody else wants to talk about how they relax? Hello? Hello? Is anyone out there?

testes, testes, 1,2...3?

Attention K-mart shoppers. There is a blue light special in aisle 4!

Hello! Is there anybody out there?

You really do have a way with words.

I've kinda forgotten how to relax, but being outside, marvelling at nature's creations always makes calm's me. I know what I'm doing tomorrow!

Sil, Sometimes I hit the cold fast, especially in the summer time. As for what parts get the attention... I purposefully left that to the imagination. I won't tell!

We'll get one big enough for six so we have lots of room to play. One benefit of having a tub built for one: I have no other choice but to sit on your lap.

36, howdy! Sounds like you have a nice way of being good to yourself. As for the "mmmmooommmm!" problem, you could always do like my dad did. He'd always tell us, "If y'all don't stop hollerin fer me, I'm gonna change my name to 'shit' and dare ya to say it!"

On second thought, maybe you shouldn't do that...

dranba, welcome, and thank you for the compliment. I am a bit late with my replies. I hope you have gotten outside and had some calm since you posted here. The outdoors calmd me too. I prefer a waterfall to a shower anyday, but I have to do what I can with what I have.

I do this too...
great for your skin and hair-
and wakes you up!

I must be the only sad bastard who comes *here* to pamper myself and relax.

Nothing better than reading some half baked shite that Trav has cooked up or one of your pant wetting hilarious posts

Bulging, I used to come here to relax, but lately it just pisses me off.
