One hell of a way to start the day

Have you ever seen the movie American Beauty?

To be honest, the movie depresses me like few others can, but I really love the opening scene where Kevin Spacey is jerking off in the morning shower and he says something like “this is the best part of the day. It all goes down hill from here.”

I was slightly decadent and naughty this morning. I woke up and saw it was still relatively early, but as usual, ol’ 2 ½ Speed was already awake and … up.

So I reached over for my towel and the bottle of lotion and rubbed one out. What did I fantasize about while I did it? I’ll keep that to myself… for now. When I was done, I wiped off, closed my eyes, felt the heat coming off my skin, my blood racing through my temples, my heart beating double-four time. Then, slowly, gently, my body melded to the floor where I had been sleeping until I could no longer feel where I ended and the floor began, my blood pulsed less urgently, my skin cooled, and I slept.

It was an excellent way to “Start” the day.

It was a nice break from the regular morning routine. I think most of us have a morning routine. I’ll tell you mine if you’ll tell me yours!

i've been "rubbing one out" in the morning lately, too. then it's wake up the house, feed the cat, get the kidlet off to school, read a couple blog entries, go to the store and get a starbucks and two butter cookies, come back home, try to work...

I like your routine better than mine this morning.

Not going to share the fantasy? Tease.

I'm usually up by 4...although I was STILL up at 4 this morning, make my coffee, let my horse-sized puppy out, bring coffee to the pc and visit here, shower, pick up the house, then try to start work by 7.

Told you it wasn't as much fun as yours...wanna come spice mine up?

wake up, grab the laptop, pee (in the bathroom, not on the laptop), wake up the kid, read email, take the neighborhood to school, come back and have TWO HOURS TO MYSELF!!!!!! At least three days out of seven. That's one of my favorite parts of the day.

Funny thing about American Beauty. I find it to be one of the most uplifting movies. Maybe it's a different perspective re: age. Or maybe I'm just askew. The thing is - he learned to LIVE.

Yeah, I'm still [blog 1hotwahine]

Oh shit, now you tell me! I've been doing it all wrong. I didn't realize I was supposed to wake up and yank one off before I got out of bed. I thought you were supposed to do that after logging on or off of AdultFriendFinder. HA!

gypsy, sounds like you like to get the day started off with a kick. I don't think I'd like it unless I had time to go back to sleep afterwards. If I had to get up right after, it would ruin the pampering factor.

DT, they say variety is the spice of life. That's why I wear masks when I go to sleep. I pick out on in the dark before i go to bed, so I can't see who I am until I get up the next morning. It's always a surprise. I was Richard Nixon this morning. I chased my cat around half the morning yelling "I'm not a crook!"

ahhhh... good times.

Dano,

Sorry about that, buddy. I wasn't trying to scare you away. I was trying to see if Traveling still has latent heterosapien tendencies. Since he didn't comment, I begin to hope he has been cured. Please come back. I won't break the code no more!

BTW, I laughed so damn hard when I read your comment my sides hurt. I couldn't breathe.

1hotwahine, I amvery glad you cleared up the issue with your laptop. I was forming very disturbing mental images.

As for American Beauty, you're right, he learns to live alright, and right when things are really working our for him. he gets a cap in his ass. The worst part is, you know from the very beginning that he dies at the end. ARGH!

44DD, I kid of miss having a set schedule. I think it serves as a solid foundation for the rest of the day.

Cookie, I usually take care of business at the end of the day. It's kinda like taking a sleeping pill before bed time. This morning thing is new to me too.

It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing and there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. And this bag was, like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. And that's the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and... this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... and I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in.

I almost forgot to tell y'all my routine. The truth is, I don't have much of one these days. Sometimes I don't sleep for a day or three at a time. Sometimes I sleep at night and sometimes I sleep in the day.

But I have a few things I doevey morning, either at sunrise or when I wake up, which ever the case may be.

If I am awake to see it, I always sit on my back porch and watch the sun rise. Then I spend a few minutes doing my daily focusing ritual - not really prayer and not really meditation, just a way to center myself and get my mind ready for the day. Then I stretch out really thouroughly and shave my head (been skipping the shaving lately.) Then I take a shower, brush my teeth, and feed the cat. Then I check my work email and work discussion boards and take care of anything that needs my attention there. Then I check my private email accounts (I maintain ten different ones for various purposes.) Then I check AdultFriendFinder and post new content if I didn't do it before i slept. Then I eat, usually all-grain granola raisin bran and no-fat skim milk with an apple or a grapefruit.

After that, the day picks up and it's just hard to tell what I'll get into.
