How do you do it?

I am wondering today, when you find a new blog that you like, do you go back and read it from the beginning?

I usually will if the blog is relatively new and there isn’t a lot of back reading, or if the person really interests me or impresses me, I’ll go back and read it all regardless of length, usually during periods when the person hasn’t posted anything new for a day or two.

What do you think?

I did that just recently with two bloggers. It took me forever and a day, but it was certainly worth it!

I tell myself that I will back read that blog, but I find myself stuck on time and can never make it. I try though.

I make it a point to at least read back 4 pages. I believe I will know what I need to about a person from that last 4 pages of posts. If they are fairly new, this will not be a problem! LOL...

I definately do that to learn more about a person; however, if someone were to do that with mine.... they would be reading for days, I think. At last count, I think I have about 53 pages of blogs to read through...

When I find a new one I like, I generally read the presenting (most recent) posts, then I flip back to the very beginning & read the first posts...weird. Sometimes you see how much better theyre writing, how theyve found their niche or style...sometimes you find they havent changed a bit. I like it both ways

Welcome back!

I've read a few from start to finish, yours being one of them. Others I try to keep up with, which gives me something to do while waiting for this site to update.

Have tongue, will use it. Repeatedly.

I often go back and read from the beginning only because i usually cannot get enough. Sometimes it makes more current posts understandable.

I have to agree with all responses as I've done just about all of them at one time or another...and have enjoyed reading a great many. Haven't picked a favorite there are so many talented folks out there. I am more drawn to men, but find many of the women's blogs fun to read..and identify with. I don't have a huge readership/fan base centered around any of my stuff...but like you said in a previous post, you do it for yourself...and that's pretty much my feeling about mine. Thanks for sticking with it...and that goes to all of the bloggers who at some point or another thought about hanging it up and stopping. If it feels good do it... right!

Jess, what did you do with two bloggers that was worth it? Oh. Reading. I'm sorry for being distracted. My knuckles always start dragging when you drop by to see me.

digdoug, I try, my friend, but there are only so many hours in a day, and even I have to sleep eventually.

native2LV, the geek in me wants to say "do, or do not. there is no try." but I can't say that, because I know exactly what you mean.

bitchy goddess, I have used that compromise as well when I am really interested but also really crunched for time. It works pretty well, even when the writer is a basket case on a crazy roller coaster (like me)

JDLA2, I feel your pain, brother. There is a lot of material out there!

Sil, it is interesting to watch the writing style. I THINK mine is fairly consistent on here, but that's because I've already established my style elsewhere. I could be wrong. It's a hard thing to judge for one's self.

Nbtnt, it is hard to keep up. I scan the new ones and the recent posts for interesting headlines, but I am reluctant to read new ones sometimes, because I know I'll have another one added to my list in no time.

TxRose, you do have a formidable archive! I have often wanted to take three days and read it all just to say that i have done it, but I have not had time to do it yet.

SJ, I do that too. You want a kick in the head? Read TDA1's recent stuff and then hit the beginning of his. He used to be serious just about all the time!

Daphne, I know what you mean about waiting on the site to update. I hope this comment posts before next week. It is too slow sometimes.

PS, thank you for reading all of me!

Bella, You make a good point. Sometimes you have to go back to the beginning to make any sense of the present. I try to avoid that, and if a past entry has bearing, i try to post a link to it at the beginning of the new post.

slidin, it does feel good to do it. It feels really good. I don't have any one favorite either, but many on my "must see" list.

BigGirlz, the good thing about catching up is that you don't have to wait for the next entry to post. It's all right there waiting on you!

Karma, I'm not disagreeing with you. Sarah was foolish, but it could also be argued that Sam was not strong when/how he should have been. I personally think they both were at fault.
