Your Husbands an Asshole

My birthday was this past Saturday. We did not have people over for my birthday because one of our friends decided she wanted to throw a BBQ on that day. It was not a BBQ for me, but Mr. Fire and I attended anyway.

Most of our good friends were there. I got a lot of people coming up to me saying Happy Birthday. I think that this pissed off my friends husband, who was the host of the BBQ.

The husband ended up yelling at me and my kids. The bastard could have come up to me privately and said something, but he announced something in front of the whole party. He also yelled at a few other people during the BBQ. I did keep my cool instead of shouting back at him. I did not want my kids to see me fight with someone.

His wife kept telling everyone that his job has him all stressed out. All of us thought the same thing, "Why the fuck did they throw a party then?"

Some people are just rude assholes.

Thank goodness some of our GOOD friends came back to our house with us and we sat, drank and talked until 2am.

It seems as though you were just as angry as I was. Now here is the story: My kids were playing in the ice bucket with drinks. There were no toys for them so they played with the next best thing. The host(husband of friend) said to me "Hey A- Do you think you can keep your kids dirty hands out of the food!?!"

You know what was going through my mind when he said that!

Oh sweetie! That's just awful. You did the right thing though in not fighting back! Set a good example for your children there! I feel sorry for your friend too.....I've been in the position of my husband embarrassing me with his temper....and it is the worst feeling ever. Fortunately, he rarely does this anymore. I'm glad you had a good birthday anyways.

My friend is just as bad! Mr. Fire and I really did not want to go. She said she was having a Birthday cake for me at the BBQ. I would have felt so bad if there was a cake and I was not there to receive it. Needless to say, there was no cake. It was a way to lure me there.

In my opinion they can both ROT!

I have much better friends that treat me like I should be. You guys here are the greatest for understanding!!

Kids learn what they see. You did the right thing. Sometimes I even point out to kids how others could have handled something differently.
You would have thought at least the hosts would have had a cake or made a toast or something.
Yes, people sometimes get stressed. Did he appologise? Is he like this all the time? Patterns do it for me. A once in a while thing I tend to overlook. Doesn't make what he did acceptable and it still sucks. Sorry it put a damper on your birthday.
Good that you got to go and relax at home.
I was out late with friends as well. Stupid bar closes early but that didn't stop us. I mean last call at just after twelve thirty!
