Tragedy Strikes...

This morning Mr. Fire was called in for mutual aid to help with a fire a couple towns away from us. He had called early this morning to let me know that 3 firefighters were injured, two of which were critical. One of the two passed away at 21 years old.

Something like this hits close to home. It chills me to the bone to think of what a family must go through when this happens. It makes me pray everyday that Mr. Fire has his guardian angels with him at all times.

In honor of all firefighters:
A Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God,

Whenever flames may rage;

Give me strength to save some life,

Whatever be its age.

Help me embrace a little child

Before it is too late

Or save an older person

From the horror of that fate.

Enable me to be alert

And hear the weakest shout,

And quickly and efficiently

To put the fire out.

I want to fill my calling

And to give the best in me

To guard my every neighbor

And protect his property.

And if, according to my fate,

I am to lose my life,

Please bless with your protecting

My children and my wife.

These guys are the best every summer in Portugal they work in subnatural and consecutives hours to help and protect the houses since there are few in combat of fire in places that only by foot and sometimes only by air.

Thank you. I will need so much strength this week for the funeral. I have never been to policeman funerals, but firefighter funerals are very sad.

Oh no I hope Mr. Fire is safe and sound while he's at work with the other firefighters. And I also hope that the injured will get well soon while God bless the soul of the young firefighter who had passed on

Thank you. I am sure that you have been through the same situations as I have. It really gets harder and harder every time.

As a firefighter, I know that deep empty feeling when we lose one of our own, My thoughts are with you and your family and those firefighters families who are in need of support.
