All Of His 2000 Parts

The past few weeks, I've been making more of an effort to go to the gym regularly. For me, "regularly" means twice a week, but it's a start, right? But I digress. My routine is simple...I just want to be able to change my physical description from "a few extra pounds" to "average," so I do cardio for 45 minutes, then lift some dumbbells to tone up the arms a little bit. I'm not big on trying to look buff or cut, just no more spare tire. My question, however, is primarily directed at anyone who likes to look at or be with guys:

What part of the male body is it most important to be toned or muscular?

If you don't look like Ah-nold, it's just not good enough.
It's what's inside that counts. Seriously. No, really. I swear. Honest.

I'm a leg woman, myself but I've found that if you work on one muscle group, the others just seem to fall in. A number of fellas work their arms because they're seen the most and neglect their legs. It's about proportion. A well developed torso and toothpick legs is not a sexy combination. lol.

Mr. Olympia builds are just too much.

Thanks, Gossip. I think you're right about the arms, too. I do those mainly because it's easy to pick up a few weights and just do them. I hold back on the legs because I have a bit of a "trick knee" from when I played volleyball regularly, and if I've made it this long without surgery, I'd like to keep up that Maybe I'll try to add some light leg lifting to keep "proportionate."

I voted for a 6-pack, but that's only because the choices are limited. I don't really look for a 6-pack (Seriously. No really. I swear. Honest!), but not typically attracted to guys with a gut.

p.s. Thanks for the phrasing, "My question, however, is primarily directed at anyone who likes to look at or be with guys." Very "politically astute" of you.

No problem, Marathon. Even though I'm straight, this is a "equal opportunity" blog! lol
Thanks for the comment.

I voted for 6-pack, not cuz I like a ripped stomach, but because I know the abdominal muscles help support the body. If your abs are in decent shape, odds are the rest of you is in shape enough to help your frame supported. Don't want to put your back out before you get down to "business" now do you??

I'm not opposed to a bit of a tummy. Lord knows I have one, but there's a limit. Anything beyond that limit looks like you don't care enough to take care of youself.

From what I've seen of your pics, you look just fine. Maybe a pic without the sweatshirt one of these days will show off all your hard work at the gym.

Thanks, Cookie. I agree wholeheartedly with the "tummy limits." I can appreciate how difficult it is to maintain a perfect body; but I, too, believe that if someone really lets themselves go, it's an indication that they have issues with themselves that should be sorted out before I get involved with them. Or is that too much psychology? lol

I'll be sure to post a pic as things begin to look a little better! Or once I figure out how to use Photoshop to put my head on Sly's body.

Thanks again!
