What the New Year brings

I did not wake up to a hangover nor in some strange bed. I went to bed sober as I didn't like the wine I opened on New Year's eve and poured it all down the sink.

But whilst window shopping, I saw a wine chiller going at a great bargain and bought it for my home. That should at least cover some of the cartons of wines that couldn't fit into my current wine chiller. Will now have to try and find some space behind my bar counter to accomodate the new chiller.

So I wonder if this symbolises that 2006 is going to be a year of drinks for me? 2005 was a drought as I had no drinking buddies. But I guess I'll be hanging out a lot more with my colleague and her friends.

I was over at George's blog and she was raising the issue of height.. specifically tall ladies and shorter men. Standing at 1.69m, I can say that I'm relatively short for a guy. While I don't remember having any issues with dating taller women that I do already know in person, I wonder if height does play a part when it comes to making first impressions to strangers? Will ladies be motivated to want to get to know a guy if he is shorter?

But either ways, I confess that I have a weakness for tall women and looking at my new clubbing gang, who are all about the same height as me or taller, this trend is set to continue. Who says short guys don't have fun?

1.69m.... that's my height! So, probably I won't wear the heels if we do go out together. Being "little woman", I must admit that I feel uncomfortable dating shorter men. Somehow, I feel more protected if he is taller and bigger than me.

Well... if you don't mind sharing your expensive wines, I don't mind being your drinking buddy. LOL

Remember you mentioning about overseas posting.... still on?

HL

Make it your challenge.... turn me ON!!

hmm, i hear you loud and clear... nah, it was not my intention to discriminate or stereoptype guys who are shorter than me per se, but it's just a thought really.

since young, rather than me discriminating shorter people around me, i got discriminated instead. well, it's because there seemed to be an wider distribution of average height people instead of taller ones. i feared that i would be discriminated for my height instead of the other way round.

my concern would lie in the guy feeling like a dwarf walking next to me but as i grow older, friends who have read and watch supermodel shows on tv began to envy and appreciate my height more. at the same time, i also learnt to accept and love my height too. so i continue to put on high heels even when people said guys would be turned off by my height yadda yadda...

tall or short in height is by no means a measurement of the compatibility in terms of communication wavelength. now, i hope you hear me
