A fire in my heart

Excerpts from Chris de Burgh - Carry me

There is an answer, some day we will know,
And you will ask her, why she had to go,
We live and die, we laugh and we cry,
And you must take away the pain,
Before you can begin to live again.

There is a river rolling to the sea,
You will be with her for all eternity,
But we that remain, need you here again,
So hold her in your memory,
And begin to make the shadows disappear.

--------------------------------------------

Its true isn't it?
The toughest fires to extinguish are those from the heart and not the loins, for a guy that is.

For many of us guys, sex is a physical relief from the burning pent up desires that our hormones generate. Once spent, the fire at our loins are doused. I suppose thats why the commercial sex industry thrives. But still the heart does not heal.

Yes, paid sex is uncomplicated as its all a matter of a business transaction and doesn't result in any complexity of feelings being developed.

But being able to talk and cuddle is an important factor to me before and after sex. In fact, the women in my life who leave the longest glowing ember in my heart were those I spent more time with clothes on than without. Sometimes, I envy women as their loins and their hearts truly burn as one.

ocias - Read your blog... used to have a f*buddy too, but nowadays we meet over coffee and a smoke and she shares her sex life with me instead of us actually jumping into bed. Once in a while we give each other backrubs and all, but thats about it ... so these days we are really more like buddies than anything else. Sometimes such spiritual exchanges can be a lot more enriching and exciting than physical fluid exchanges
