inspired by a reicent post by Safira

At the periphery of your sleeping shadow I stand
So drenched in moonlight I can scarcely dream
Of anything but warm and lovely rain and sandswept hills
That spin upwards in whipped drifts like heavy cream
I can almost taste it as the copper fire tendrils lick my face
A fire that burns like ice around your rain kissed form
I will melt you as I kneel upon the carved and naked stones
While the moonlight pierces my spirit with sweet longing
For something intangible that never was and will always be
Before between and after but never now
All there is in the spaces between before and now and after
A thick warm light, moon music that makes me ache for something more
Immersed and mad and manic with cravings
For that which cannot exist I take you
And make you into something that will make the carved stones sing
and the moon blush pale

And still I am humbled ... and working on a response. Thank you, my friend. *warm, gentle hugs*
