Anyone else out there feel 'funny' when they look at the old fashioned pinup girls. Vargas and Olivia are two of the artists that come to mind who seem to have a knack for capturing the female body in art in a way that evokes a physical reaction.

Why does this happen? I know that men (stereotyping here, dont blow a gasket) are mostly a visual creature. We get stimulated easiest first through smell (strongest sensory organ) then sight. This is probably why strip clubs are so popular, but I digress (I know, I do that a lot.. Sue Me!)

I love looking at the way these women are stylized on the pages or books, or on the canvas.

You'd love some of the books we have in the library here about WWII nose art! And the Vargas ladys are georgeous.
