'twas the night after xmas

'twas the night after xmas
and all through this house
not a present remained here
because of that louse
He'd rode in on his black horse
the one he called red
went to robbing folks christmas
while they slept in their beds
all presents, the wrappings
and even the bows
ended up at the pawn shop
yeah, the one they call Joes
for a dollar he'd kill you
for another he won't
but the badman hated xmas
like the rest of us don't
he'd take stockings, and cookies
and the milk that you left
all your fancy tree trimmings
and the nativity set
he'd steal Barbies and the ribbons
or GI Joes and Spiderman
didn't make him no difference
he takes all that he can
but one day when he's emboldened
and his steal-night's at the end
he rides red back to the hide out
only place he's ever been
finds his ill gained treasure stolen
from his very own home
and the neighbors are applauding
and he knows he's alone
so come hither, and come hather,
and come one and come all
as we all call on indifference
when the cops gun him down
cause he's guilty as we see it
and he sure ain't Heaven bound
so if theiving is you nature
and it's christmas that you hate
don't blame Jesus or ole Santa
for the way this translates
now away on my rooftops
that's still covered with snow
I hear Bing Crosby singing
an old song we all know
onward Prancer, you too Rudolph
git'up all you lazy reindeer
cause a black horse lost his rider
so he's done for this year
and the weary-eyed little children
now can gather by their trees
cause that thief hating christmas
did his final badman deed
twas the night after to christmas
and all through the house
not a thing came up missing
not even my computer mouse
