Scattered Thoughts

Last night my daughter(1) started feeling sick and had a bit of a fever. I had not been feeling well for most of the day.

My house is still in the process of being remodeled and the worse part is all the stuff from my room is in my daughters(2) room, so both of us have no place to sleep. The flooring still is not done in the living room and so I don't have any living room furniture to sleep on.

My friend invited me to stay with her, but I really needed alone time with my children. I rented a hotel room for two nights.

It's a good thing I did, daughter(1)'s fever spiked pretty high last night. I gave her pain killers and I had ran down to wally world to get her some nyquil and some flu medication. At one point in time during the night, she was moaning in her sleep. She is normally a very quiet sleeper. I got up and felt her and she was very very hot. Damn! I forgot the thermometer. I took a hand towel and a wash rag and wet them down with cool water and placed the rag on her forehead and the hand towel over her torso. She said, "OH, that feels so good."

I remember what my Grandmother told me about feeding fevers and starving colds, and encouraged her to eat. She said he ate well earlier and was not hungry. It was not long that her fever broke and she slept well through the night.

This morning I made lesson plans and emailed them to the secretaries and I called off work and went back to bed. That was after I encouraged daughter(2) to get up but she was complaining about a sore throat. We slept until 11:45 when my workers came over and woke me up. I would still be sleeping had they not come over. I guess I have to buy more supplies.

Anyway I am home and glad to be home even if I have to sleep in yet another hotel room for now.
