Prefer not to say

I was glancing through some profiles today, and I always have to wonder why people mark "Prefer not to say" for sexual orientation and marital status when in their profile they say they are searching for "something on the side" or they are looking for a same sex relationship.

I had to giggle tonight at one where the profiles sexual orientation was "Prefer not to say" yet this man had a photo of himself giving a blow job to a very well endowed man.

Yes, I realize that there are many profiles that are "fake" or here for whatever reason, but I always have to wonder why?

I Understand marking "Prefer not to say" for profession, or salary... I mean I don't want everyone to know what I do or how much money I make.

LOL! I haven't run across anything as obviously contradictory as that, but I'm not surprised. Some people don't seem to realize what they're saying in their profiles.

I have a couple of things marked on my profile as "Prefer not to say," but as I see it, they're things that don't have any relevance to what I'm doing here. But sexual orientation ... good grief, how hard is it to pick one you like and stick with it? As for marital status, the choices they give us seem to cover all the bases. I don't get it, either.

talldark, thanks for your option of preferring not to say.

PillsburyCode, I agree there are things I mark "Prefer not to say" because it has not relevance to what I am doing here, but sexual preference and marital status should coincide with their bio. Crazy, isn't it?

Isn't "prefer not to say" the default for a lot of those? It's been a while since I filled out my profile but I thought it was. Could be just good old fashoined American laziness too...........

sadock76, that's a good point to make, "prefer not to say" is indeed default, but if they changed others, why not the important ones?
