It's Midnight . . .

. . . but, it's just as dark at eleven forty-five.

Now that I have attempted to put humor into the beginning of this post . . .

Most of the tile is laid in my daughters room. Dang, I wish I had more energy. We have been working eleven straight days on this house and still not finished with the second room. I guess it would go faster if I didn't have to go to work. Working on it in the evenings is just taking too much time away, when I could be doing more through the day. But damned those bills need to be paid.

I have been running on empty the past few days. I just have not been eating right because I have not taken the time to eat.


By the time I got home on Monday I was pretty hungry. I worked, then I had to go to the bank and then to the Department of Motor Vehicles to renew my license plates, which were already expired by three days.

It was not bad enough that I had already waited an hour for them to call my number, but I get the trainee! Then I had to ask for the new Character Counts plates, and they had to search for them, then they had to find scissors to open the package, then the trainee didn't know how to properly enter the plates into the system, since they were special plates. Another forty-five minutes and nearly 200 bucks later, finally I walk out with my new tags in hand.

The time is nearing five o'clock by now and I still have not eaten for the day, and I have one more bill to pay before going home. I decided that I was going to bring dinner home, because I'll be damned if I am going to cook, I am starved!

I stop at two different places for dinner, because daughter #1 wants bean buritto's and I wanted something with protien besides beans. Finally, I get home and am shaking and feeling faint for not eating. I could not even finish my food because I was now sick, and I just wanted to lay down. The good thing was, I had enough food to do me good, but I found it odd that I was sucking down my soda. I don't EVER finish a soda, but I could not get enough of it, and I drained it before I was done eating.

I figured my sugar was low. Now I don't think I have sugar problems, but now I tend to think I do, so I am going to the doc on Monday.


I didn't want a repeat of yesterday, but yet, I forgot to get breakfast. I did, however, order lunch. I had some cashews in my desk that I snacked on through the day.

Now Tuesdays, I have a running date with my daughters. I take them to the local buffet, because kids eat free on this day. For every paying adult meal, I get one free kids buffet. So, we invited my friend B to join us. If it would have just been my girls and I, the bill would have been nearly the same amount as it was to feed four people.

So much food, there are five sections to this buffet and the grilled meats area. Their steaks are out of this world. Usually, I can only eat one plateful, then I get a small dessert. I am not much of a sweet eater, but I love their peach cobbler.

I get my usual, steak, potates, green beans, and any other green veggie that looks appetizing. Again, I am feeling a tad faint again, and shakey.

I start to eat, and again, I start to feel sick. So sick that I can't even finish my dinner, for the second day in a row. Our usual waitress notices that I am not feeling well and chats with me a bit about it. She suggested that coca cola will help build my sugar levels faster. I thought I'd try it and agree to let her bring me a cup. There is not much of a difference and I still feelt totally drained, and sick to my stomach. We leave to go home.

B follows me home to make sure I get there okay and she stays with me for a bit. I decide that I want to lay down and try to nap. After less than an hour of laying down I feel my energy levels rising.

I get up and just my luck at the same time company arrives. My sons friends who have recently moved out of their parents house and on their own came looking for dinner. I told them to help themselves, but not to expect me to cook anything for them.

I pointed out the pizzas in the freezer, they were welcome to eat them. My daughter volunteered to bake them for the boys. They eat and thank me for the meal and go on their merry way.

My energy is back to normal, and I help my youngest with her homework and read her a Junie B. Jones book. She falls asleep in my arms.

I cover her up and my oldest daughter and I continue with laying the tile in her room. We get most of it done, but she is getting tired. We ended up moving her bed into her room, and setting it up. Her dresser is in her room now and so are some shelves that used to be in her old room. Finally, about midnight we have her bed set up and made so she can get some sleep. Tomorrow we will finish laying the tile in her closet.

I can't sleep, I am not eating right, and my energy levels keep dropping. I suppose it is time for me to take care of myself and get a check up. In the mean time, it's more protein for me and some vitamins. I suppose it could also help that I drink more water since I have not been drinking as much water as I usually do.

humboldthonni, I used to buy the trail mix with those ingredients, I love it. Last night as I wrote my blog I drank a liter and a half of water.

I think a facial or a scalp massage is indeed in order!

I did sleep until the alarm went off this morning, but I didn't go to bed until nearly two.

I don't usually chime in just to agree with someone else, but humboldthonni's advice is very good. More water; more healthy snax to keep you going when you can't have a proper meal; some downtime to pamper yourself. Maybe when you finish the room you're working on, you should take a break from the remodeling. It'll still be there when you're ready. Your health is more important! I'm glad you're making plans to see the doctor.

The thing about renovating is if it dosnt get done today there is always tomorrow, have a rest it will make you feel much better

Shouldn't burn the candle like that sweetie. Not good. Besides, any renovation project makes it real easy to get burned out. Maybe pacing is better.

PillsburyCodeBoy, I had some snacks at work today and ordered a high protein meal for lunch. I did have some sweets today since it's my sugar I suspect is crashing. I feel pretty good right now, except the fact that I have not slept but two - four hours a night for the past 10 days. I am kind of tired.

talldarkavg1 pacing? I have never paced myself. I either dive in and go all the way, or I procrastinate until I talk myself out of doing it.

Renovations and remodeling take a lot of time and energy. It's as bad as moving. Just be patient a little while longer and it will all look so beautiful and you will be very proud.

Network_Minx, by the time I get my living room and dining room tiled, I will be nearly a month behind schedule. Patience is not on of my virtues.

I am taking tonight off though. I insisted that the girls do too!
