For Sale

I finally called a real estate agent and put the 20 acres I inherited from my father up for sale. He and I had been talking about selling it for months before his death. It seems this will be the best thing for me. I'll pay off my car and nearly half of my mortgage, my credit cards and other stupid little loans.

I am so glad I didn't have to ask anyone to live with me! LOL

When my mom died I had to sell everything she had, house, stocks and collector items to pay for all the medical and nursing home bills. This did not cover it all and since I had to sign the papers for her care I ended up paying the balance from my savings. Mom and dad took care of me and it was only fair I take care of her in her last days. My dad died when I was 22 and I always wished he could have seen his grandchildren and maybe we would have been more than father and son but best friends as my boys and I are.

willie8one2, when Dad signed his life away to serve in the Navy for 20 years the government promised him medical coverage for the rest of his life. Eventually the government renigged on their promise. Before Clinton left the office he reinstated that promise to those vets to signed up years and years ago.

Dad had two heart attacks three years ago and $80,000 worth of hospital bills that were paid by tri-care for life and medicare. Everytime I get a bill or a statement from tri-care or medicare I am always pleased that the beneficiaries responsibility is $0. He spent nearly two months of this year alone in the hospital before we finally decided to put him on hospice. I shudder to think of those bills. I am glad they will be covered.

His creamation will be paid for as soon as the life insurance comes through. I signed over what I owe when the funeral home helped me file the life insurance.

The only debt I will assume that he had is the lean he put against his pathfinder to buy a handicapped accessible van. Once I sell the van, I am sure I can pay the pathfinder off.

I would have had had to sell my children, home, car and computer and still be in debt if Clinton would not have reinstated that promise to cover medical for the military vets.

Thank you Clinton!!!
