To the inconsistent spellers

I have decided for the sake of my own awareness to point out a glaring inadequacy in my own view of things.I stated to a person in their own BLOG an inconsistency in the factual data they had supplied as the basis for a story-line.I was subsequently told by an admirer of theirs' that I was of an inferior quality as a human being and couldn't spell.
What does this mean?Am I inferior because I can't spell,or am I inferior for calling some-one on the mat because they lied? I admit I can't spell, but for the most part I can tell when a person represents a a disappointment of moral fibre.Perhaps I have not moved with the a place where no matter how absurd the story,it is true if you look appropriate.

I also find many, maybe most, blogs start out with their own slant, not on facts ... have also had the owner's buddies go to their defence ... dont sweat it .. .they arent worth it .. my take. Keep up the good work!!!

Being that I’m the person our host is speaking about, I’ll do the right thing and claim what I did and why I did it.

But first, some facts need to be clarified. I never maligned you because of your spelling or grammar. I simply brought those points up because, in the post in question, you chose to criticize not only the person’s post but the way in which it was written. I believe the words you used were “…in your slight bit of poorly written fiction”. I simply told you to take a good hard look behind your pointed finger. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones.

Furthermore, at no time did I ever defend the author in a way that said “How dare you? All of her posts must be the gospel truth because she’s hot”. In fact, I noted that for all I knew the author was not even female. To address your point of “it is true if you look appropriate”, I even went so far as to state that for all I know Amberabercrombie is a 300lb biker. The point is that BLOGS are simply for entertainment and your post served no purpose other than to attempt to detract from the entertainment value of that BLOG.

A lot of people get enjoyment out of that particular writer’s posts. This is apparent because of both the amount of traffic that it receives and the amount of responses that the individual gets (hell, I wish my BLOG had 1/100 of the traffic her BLOG does). If one’s life is so miserable that they need to try to ruin that for others in a self appointed role of some Orwellian Ministry of Truth Official then that person should not expect their comments to go unchallenged.

Am I an admirer of Amberabercrombie? I think that “admirer” is too strong of a word. I simply enjoy her BLOG. I didn’t challenge your post because I’m some sycophantic drone who worships at her feet. I challenged it because the human ego is a fragile thing and a mean spirited post like yours could discourage a person like her from contributing. As I mentioned previously, a lot of people get enjoyment out of that BLOG (true or not) and I would simply have hated to lose it as a source of entertainment because you THINK something may not be true.

I don’t know if you’re a bad person or not. Frankly, I don’t care. It’s not my place to judge others. Nor is it yours. Your quality of spelling or grammar certainly does not define you as a person but your post in Amberabercrombie’s BLOG was mean spirited and uncalled for and offered no value. As a result it both reflected on the state of your moral fiber at the time you wrote it and it was, subsequently, challenged on a number of fronts.

First, it was challenged because, for no reason other than your own edification, you felt the need to point out a flaw in a piece of prose that (again true or not) was intended to facilitate some fun discussion. This smacks of the child who doesn’t get to play shortstop so he takes his ball home.

Secondly, it was challenged because it would appear that you take things far too seriously and expect all things on the Internet to be true. They’re not. This is a fun site if you just go with it and not be so ready to highlight the flaws of others you may well have more fun.

Third, whether rightly or wrongly, I challenged the quality of your writing. If I offended you on this point I apologize but that challenge to your writing style was a response to your personal attack on Amberabercrombie’s writing ability. I know I’m not the best writer in the world but I do have two published business books under my belt and I’m in the process of writing a novel for which I already have a publisher so I do know a thing or two about writing. Any critic could find a myriad of things to say about any post, profile or email ever written on this site and that particular portion of your short post was the most mean spirited part of your entry.

As a footnote, your post here only tells part of the story. The post above would have had much more credibility had you linked it to your original post but you chose not to do so and chose to render your own version of what you were challenged on above.
