Is There Anyone Out There Who Doesn't Like...

....Men at Work?

OK, I'll rephrase that. Is there anyone who DISlikes Men at Work?

You know, 1980's Australian pop band with the great sense of humor and catchy hooks?

Who Can It Be Now
Down Under
It's A Mistake
Overkill

A completely inoffensive, non-genre oriented, fun loving tune writing band that sold about 10 million albums before disappearing as quickly as they arrived.

I've never met anyone - regardless of their taste in music - that has ever admitted to me that they hate, dislike, or otherwise become annoyed upon hearing one of Men at Work's songs.

Are you the one?

I have to admit that I like them. My cassette tape of them finally died and I've even considered getting a CD.

They weren't bad and the songs bring back memories.

.

Thanks Luke and Silky, glad to see that I'm not alone. I recently picked up their greatest hits CD entitled "Contraband." Its good to toss it in the ole CD player every now and then and feel all 1982!

They were okay for back in the day. A friend recently told me about a song that the lead singer (Colin Hay) did called, "I Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You." It's part of the "Garden State" soundtrack. Very mellow, simple song. It reminds me a lot of Peter Gabriel's "Grieve" ("City of Angels" soundtrack) before the song breaks out into that little "song and dance" at the end.

Ok I'm showing my love of the 80's but on rainy days my friends and I used to roller skate in my basement to Men at Work. Among others!

Hmmmm, my mom used to watch Roller Derby. That's as close as I've ever gotten to wheels on my feet. But I could certainly picture chowing on a Vegamite sandwich and getting down somehow!

You missed one on your list. "Dr. Hekyll and Mr. Jive," the song was ok, and the video was daaamn funny.

I miss the old MTV, back when they actually played music videos instead of all that "Real World" and other "reality" crap.

AH yes, the forgotten hit. I barely remember the vid, but as with all things being Men at Work, I'm sure it was good for a laugh.

Thanks for the reminder!
