Fictional Nuptials

OK, how many of you out there recall a TV series entitled Once & Again? It ran for three seasons on ABC beginning in 1999.

For so many reasons; this show holds a special place in my heart. Not only is it, IMHO, the best written network TV series ever, and the singularly most realistic family drama period (by miles) it also introduced me to my first group of on-line friends. Some of whom came to be very, very close friends. Most consider it to have been a weekly version of a "chick flick." And, I hate to admit it, its re-airings did take place on the Lifetime network.

But I don't care. I'm confident enough in my masculinity to admit that I watched Once & Again. And Lifetime. And participated in various Save Our Show endeavors when the axes of cancellation befell us.

Oh God... I'm a Lifetime boy... ahhhhh.....!!!!

Anyway, back to my point. I'm a lifelong bachelor. Proud of it. See no reason to change. Can not envision ever wanting to. However, Once & Again featured a female character that, if I were ever to change my mind, I would actually look forward to spending the rest of my days betrothed to. Her character's name was Judy Brooks, and she was portrayed by the actress Marin Hinkle. Till death do us part I would. For her and no other. Her combination of looks, personality, strength & weakness, naivete and knowledge, charm and humor. And that little smile. That slight upturn of the corners of her mouth while turning away from me smile. She melts me.

She's mine. Who is yours? Any character from TV or movies. Past or present. It could be their looks, their personalities, their wit, charm, mischievousness... anything. Who is that one fictional character that was written just for you?

I'm not really into fantasizing about the non reality of things like fictional characters and celebrities. I did find myself following Johnny Depp's career until every character he played seemed to be addicted to some sort of vice. I never really thought it was a crush until I realized I had been following him since 21 Jump Street. I never really fantasized about him or wished I was married to him though. Just liked looking at him. Jeremy Irons or Aaron Eckhart. Those two I have dreamed about I guess.. now that I put more thought into it. Jeremy I would love to ravish and Aaron I would like to spend the rest of my life with. I am sure there are more, but I tend to go for the independent type film stars and cannot think of any one's name at the moment.

That is too funny. I just saw Dances the night before I wrote this. And, I do believe that under my breath, once or twice, I did state that Costner is one sexy man!

The character Quinn Mallory, played by Jerry O'Connell, on the show Sliders. I was REALLY pissed when his character was written off the show. Guess he went on to bigger and better things. Truthfully, I know he's on a show now, I can't recall which one, I never watch it. It just wouldn't be the same.

LOL, I used to watch that show, for pretty much the same reason, except the one I liked was Sela Ward, I think she's got alot of sex appeal
