Day Off

There is nothing like a day off when you are supposed to be working. Weekends are great - but when you take a day off during the work week, it feels like you are getting away with something.

I'm lucky in that I get to take a day off or two every few weeks. Unfortunately, at this point, I don't have a person to play "hooky" with...it seems that the ladies I have been able to chat with so far through this site are all 40-50 hour a week workers....very conscientious workers I might say

I wonder what the ratio of ladies that are stay-at-home moms versus working full time? I'll take a guess and say 20 / 80 split...which is just amazing...women's equality come a long way in 20-30 years. I wonder if most ladies who work full time would rather be at home or not have to work as hard...and I wonder if the ladies at home with kids would rather be working?

Is the grass greener on the other side when it comes to this?

Well, hopefully everyone is heading into the summer looking to relax a bit more and enjoy themselves....anyone ready to take a day off and have fun?

I am one of those stay at home moms and that has become new for me once again...I worked before I had my 3rd daughter (which she will be 7) and then I started working last january and stopped this past february...love having my afternoons free!

I liked working, gave me an out..but now I have my "friends" to give me what I need at times...

I don't think I could ever "not" work....it's what has always driven me. Even when I took time off to go to college...I couldn't do it - I had to work, needed to see the results of my efforts on a daily basis. And I don't have anyone to help support me, it's just me - - so unless I became independently wealthy...I will work until I die. And love it.

I'm sorry I'm one of those that doesn't fit into your 1 or 2 days off every couple of weeks, even that is hard to plan around..since you don't know until a day or 2 ahead that you are gonna be off.

As for my summer -- Well hurricane season is upon us..so this is when I get REALLY busy.... guess I will see ya next year.

I am a stay-at-home mom who is presently a student as well. I enjoy my time at home. I believe my children are better off with me(the person that knows their every need. However, I am looking to go back to work soon. I have been home for about 4 yrs this time and am ready to expand my life. I need interaction with people my own age and I also want to help my hubby with supporting our little family. In todays time it is hard to stay home one must do without unless the other partner has a well paying job that they love. Even still the one staying home ends up by getting the short end of the stick because when you stay home your life revolves around kids and chores all day and the one working doesn't quite understand how hard the other one works to help provide. I still love staying home and wish I could continue, but I also want to have a retirement and a home that I can say that I helped to pay for.
