anybody want a cat?

ok.. i love my kitties. but i sure wish they were vegetarian!!! and/or that they didn't love me quite so much. i'm tired of presents.

birds. mice. new thing: rabbits.

even got a live pet mouse once.

now have a live, mostly unharmed, baby bird in a box.

and 2 PO'd cats locked outside my apartment.

i'm way too squeemish for this.

I guess that's the downside of cat ownership, huh? Oh, and in my case, allergies too, though I might risk it again some day.

dusty: there's no way to know where the momma bird is anyhow. i found the bird on my bedroom floor where my cat dropped it before comign to brag about hwo she brought me 2.

dropped it off at a wild bird lady's house. she's going to feed it and rehabilitate it once it's grown. that was amazing!! she's got baby quail, a baby duck, 3 baby finches (mine the newest and youngest. she said it was definately still a nestling)... lots of other wild birds. and then her living room is full of parrots, parakeets, stuff like that. apparently one has to be licensed thru the state of WA to have wild birds in your care. when i told her the situation, she figures the birds either fell out of the nest or the entire nest fell out of the tree. my cat just happened along shortly after. much happier it was alive and unharmed (well: it's sibling was dead).

i'm not really wanting to get rid of my cats. i love them. but... i'm not sure how much more i can handle.

well I told you the story about the last cat I had.
Spent $500 on it at the vet & it died anyway.

Look at it this way, there bringing you more pets!!!

Bells, bells, and more bells. Doesn't always work but I think it definately helps the birds and mice atleast get a running start.

yeah... thanks for reminding me though Tasha still brought me tons of presents with the bells. She was also really good at losing her collars, which got spendy after a while.

Awwww! They love you!

Rabbits? For a couple of years, we had three cats and a rabbit. It was an ongoing fascinating display of interspecies communication. The cats respected the rabbit and steered clear of him unless he was in his cage. I'm convinced to this day that one of the cats liked to sit just outside the cage when he was in it, just to taunt him because he couldn't chase her away when he was locked in....
