Opinions, please...

I'm not "looking" for anybody at this time. I have made numerous friends from this site, many I know only through chatting and blogging, but some I've met in person. When I first started blogging, I totally forgot about the rest of the site. Didn't check email for over a month lol. Now... I do check. I recently changed my profile to say "Too busy and No longer looking" but that only caused my email to increase.

My question: bloggers/blog readers... how important is it to you that the person you read has their profile up? I know if I find somebody who's pic catches my attention, or whose words touch me... I usually do wander over to their blog (if they have one) and their profile. It sometimes mildly irritates me when somebody I want to know more about has his/her profile turned off.

Please let me know your thoughts on this. And for those with opinions but too shy or feel it's not their place to comment... I'll do a post on it also. That way it's anonymous.

I like to check out their profile to get more information. So I vote profile on. Of course, you can adjust your preferences to allow only the folks that you want email's from.

It isn't too irritating. Some people don't fill in too much on their profiles anyway; those generic ones they give out are more irritating than anything. Some profiles are meant to be on though I wouldn't have you without it, Tips. Also wouldn't have that great nickname

do you mean my handle which i gave myself, or my nickname which you gave me? either way, both are wonderful though i do get the occassional "i've been ignoring your profile for weeks because of your handle. change it: you're scaring men off" emails. (got one 2 days ago). Though if they're going to judge a book by it's cover, they're not my type anyways so perfectly good they ignore me. lol.

I understand why poeple turn off there profiles. But when your curious about them & then have now way of finding out that one little thing about them, its a bummer.
Maybe if they put some basic profile info that others might find interesting in there blogs it would help our curiosity!

If we didn't already communicate on a regular basis, it would irritate me a little; mainly because I just wat to get to know a blogger to the fullest extent possible. With me, it is not an issue unless you were within 50 miles of me. I really wouldn't have any interest then.

Generally, if their profile is turned off I assume that they do not want people looking at them and checking them out. It could be for any of a number of reasons; they are currently with someone, they have gone inactive from the website, or maybe they are being hit on by too many guys who are acting like jerks.
If it is the profile of someone Who's blog I read and I would like to know more about them, then I ask. Then they can decide if they want to share or not.

I'm glad the strange ones are being scared off. How can one be scared of a cute lil kitten, demonic or not. {=}

growls, hisses, shows teeth and fangs...

then ruins the effect by purring and cuddling up for petting
