The Tub

The deck's awash with the silver gleam
Of the rising full moon's glow
The bare trees casting shadows
On the velvet earth below

With a good friend close beside me
I gaze in silent awe
At the beauty of the autumn night
With it's air both crisp and raw

Small puffy clouds pass slowly
Between the earth and moon
Riding on a gentle breeze
Like a small child's toy baloon

The steam is softly rising
From the heated water's heart
And the briskly rippled surface
Tears the rising wisps apart

We let the water's soothing warmth
Remove the pent up stress
And ease the aches and pains of life
Like a mother's soft caress

And as we let the lovely warmth
Take all our cares away
We know that it will help us both
To face another day
