Halloween

North winds stirring gently
From the colder regions blow
Bringing with them hints of cold
And winter's deepening snow

Children snuggled warmly
In hooded winter coats
And fires burning brightly
Provide a happy note

The full moon shining high above
On tiny ripples gleams
Like a million shining diamonds
Which flash their dazzling beams

The fall night is enchanted
With witches taking wing
And bats and ghosts and goblins
Their eerie songs to sing

But fear not all you children
This night is not to last
And soon Thanksgiving will arrive
With it's bountiful repast
