WATER FROM YOUR SPRING

WATER FROM YOUR SPRING

What was that candle's light
that opened and consumed me so quickly?

Come back, my friend! The form of our love
is not a created form.

Nothing can help me but that beauty.
There was a dawn I remember

when my soul heard something
from your soul. I drank water

from your Spring and felt
the current take me.

Delicious....I didn't want to "HIt and Run", so here is my "obvious" comment!!!....I see that they accepted you profile pic this time.....I love it!!

I will have to "sleep" on Rumi!!....I will try an intelligent response, at a later date.

Well, at least someone got some. Even though it was 800 years ago...

Still, that seems better than some of the dry spells I have been through over time...

Agree with easy 8!

Apt handle, delicious. A most gorgeous, heavenly body. And a brain to match! I'm hooked.

Your handle brings to mind an old song from the 60's, by The Association, I believe: "Precious and Few." Or were those just some of the words from their huge hit: "Cherish"? My halfzheimers is showing, I'm afraid.

Love you, love your blog, love the French Broad (river, that is).
Keep 'em coming, sweet thing. Really no pun intended, but it works, doesn't it.

If you enjoy Rumi, I believe there is a CD out in time for Christmas with readings. (John Blye? and ??)

NPR recently had a piece on a new CD/DVD. "Reading Rumi in an Uncertain World" read by Robert Bly and Naomi Shihab Nye.

Perhaps something you would enjoy?

Rumi is enjoying a bit of a renaissance right now.

Is the audio book/CD you’re thinking of “A Gift of Love”? Second title is “Deepak and Friends Present Music Inspired by the Love Poems of Rumi”. It has two hours of music and spoken word by Coleman Barks, Goldie Hawn, Madonna, Demi Moore, Rosa Parks, Martin Sheen, Debra Winger etc.

There’s also a “Gift of Love II ‒ Oceans of Ecstasy” and “Breeze at Dawn”.

I will email you a sound clip from Oceans of Ecstasy.

I’ve enjoyed all of these.

Henri

"This is not a day for asking questions,
not a day on any calendar.
This day is conscious of itself.
This day is a lover, bread, and gentleness,
more manifest than saying can say."

-Rumi

Excellent choice. Rumi lives!
I love the pictures that you post as well, very vibrant. Are you a photographer? Your own picture is also quite impressive.

I'ts an un-named waterfall....instead of a "spring" I intend a FLOOD. *grin*

Delicious ... My first time to visit you! I'm kinda like Keith (above). I thought someone got some some time ago, like 800 years ago? But apparently NOT, as you were quick to point out! Well then, IF no one got any 800 years ago, how did we propagate the human race? Somebody must've got some back then? Somewhere? Right?
No? Good to visit! I'll read some of your other postings and then get out of your hair!

Oh I'm sure SOMEONE "got some" but that's NOT what this poem is about

Thanks for reading my blogs!

To me a waterfall is more powerful than a spring, but less than a flood. What sort of flood are you looking for? That can mean many different things to many differernt people.

If you are interested in hearing some of Rumi’s material, Amazon provides an extensive set of “samples”.

Go to the Amazon site and search for “A Gift 0f Love: Deepak & Friends Present Music Inspired By The Love Poems Of Rumi”. If you scroll down the page you will see a list of samples from the CD.

Rumi writes of union, but not with another...with spirit! He experiences it the same way though...an ecstacy of sensual joy and blessed pleasure!

It IS erotic in that the senses are aruosed, the spirit is engaged and the heart is soaring with joy!

The well springs brought heav'nly delight
Whilst heat from the wand bold and bright
Consumed her in ardor
Which moistened her garter
And kept them entwined through the night.

I know Rumi's verse isn't about "getting some" but when paraphrasing using a Limerick as a medium, it always ends up that way...

Ars longa, vita brevis.

What I was feeling was a lot of gratitude for how much I have grown, emotionally, since I started blogging.......And at this beginning of a new year, I am reaching out and thanking all who have helped me in this growth.

Delicious....In no small way, you have helped me so much.....Just by being you.!! In my blog post "The Only Dance There Is."Ram Dass says it best...I hope you will go there and read the quote.

Thankyou Delicious.!!

Ram Dass is all about staying in the NOW and that is where I always strive to be. Being there with another is even better.
