Men to match our mountains....

This is the motto of my fair county.

As I wandered about the pristine moutains on my mini vacation I found myself in awe of nature. Surrounded by all that beauty one feels small and insignificant.Yet, I also felt at one with the spirit that was all around me.

In a previous posting
Moving Mountains I talked about how the mountains embrace and comfort, yet not pen in...this is the kind of relationship I seek. Strength and tenderness, passion and comfort.

Where are the men to match our mountains??

*note..the motto was changed in 1989 to say "PEOPLE to match our mountains".The seal was designed by a 6th grader in 1920 in contest.

I aspire to be able to "comfort and embrace" . and yet . not try to possess !! .. It's a special feeling I get when I feel that I am able to do that !!

I am looking forward to seeing the mountains of North Carolina soon .. I will make it a point to understand their lessons !!

I did visit your mountains of North Carolina and I left with a feeling of "being embraced and comforted . but not posessed" .. How prophetic !! .. And what a miracle that trip was for me !!

I just realised that I have not left a comment on the blogs for a week now .. The last comment that I left was written from a motel room in North Carolina regarding the beautiful photograph of you on your last blog post !!

I used to be such a "flirt" on the blogs .. I wonder if any of my women friends have missed me ??

I have been to your mountains on four occasions and find them to be inspiring and mystical. I attended my first sweat lodge and will do it again, if invited. I 'll be attending WCU in 2008 and hope to move to the mountains early next year ( after the snow is gone).
Yes, the spirits are alive and well there. Any suggestions on a Realtor?
