All I wanna do

What is wrong with having fun? I want to EXPERIENCE life , not watch it!

I have a lot of friends, who, while I love them dearly I find incredibly boring. They go nowhere, they do nothing! The thought of taking off for a clothing optional resort, not only disgusts them, but frightens them as well, I imagine.

I lived in fear of things for a long time. What would others think? What would others say? Well the OTHERS are sitting on the sofa watching TV, and I am heading downtown to watch the drumming circle.WHY? Because it interests me and its DOING SOMETHING!

Now, do not get me wrong. I like lazing about on a Sunday doing nothin but watching a few movies. But I cannot do that all the time. I would die a cruel and slow meaningless death.

PS my motto is thus: SAY YES TO STUFF

I like your outlook on life! You are absolutely right. I'm leading a much more interesting life since I started doing things. I was beginning to get second thoughts about it and then I found your blogs. Now I'm sure it's the right way to go. Thanks for encouraging me to do something!

ditto on the boring friends, but yesterday two of them totally shocked me by suddenly expressing an interest in this site and said they *might* join... so maybe you just the spark in your group of friends...

You are so lucky to be so close to Biltmore House. When I was younger, I remember taking special dates there. I love the gardens. I could walk around or sit for hours there. What a great place to go and "do stuff."

One of the blessings of my fractured marriage, is that I found myself experiencing activities I never would have thought about before. Taking yoga lessons was the first. I went to spiritual workshops every weekend. I learned how to play a "Jembe" in drumming circles. Joined the YMCA and actually went daily........exercsed and used the sauna and steam room. I went for massage therapy every 2 weeks for several years.I stayed at a monestary for a weekend and was not allowed to talk or read books.

In the old days of our marriage, there was no way that I would have brought that beautiful Affrican drum home. And using it in drumming circles was an experience I need to re-visit.

The group I played with, played 3 or 4 different rhythms, depending upon the number of drummers, all at the same time. The combination of overtones and sub tones, created a sound much like an Affrican chant. I would go into a trance like state and "something" would take over my hands. During the session, I felt like I was on automatic, and In the dark suroundings, I could actually see dancers. It was definately a mind altering experience.

I looked for a clothing optional resort, that might be close by to where I live. I found one on the internet. On closer inspection, there was only one member (a 60 year old male "minister") who offered his back yard swimming pool to anyone interested. I said no to that stuff!!!

PS. I was going to post on your sensual massage discussion, but was not able to get it together.

Thanks GAry...I have been doing some of those kinds of things myself. In m MY marriage I would have been ridiculed and laughed at for even thinking about such things!

Here in my town, every Friday Night there is a public drumming. I beleive a club started it. There are sometimes nearly 50 or so drumming and many more dancing or twirling in some mad dervish of inner dancing! I love going and seeing it. I often take dates there, just to see how they react...any ridicule and XXX they go!
