dashers pick of the day

"Oh lord I cant chaaaaange. Wont you flyyyyyyy freeeeeeee birrrrrrrrd yeaaaaaaaah!"

Ok, so in case I did a really shitty job of putting that down, thats the end of the last verse of Lynard Skynards "Free Bird". Right after that the song goes wild, and its great!
This part has been stuck in my head for days now. I sing it walking down the hall at work, and everyone just shakes their heads at me. Must be my beautiful singing voice lol. Anyway, this crawled into my head because of the final scene in the Rob Zombie movie "The Devils Rejects."
It is the sequel to his first movie "House of 1000 Corpses." Now, that movie was his first. He made many mistakes, it was super low budget, and very rediculous at times. Being a die hard horror movie fan, I had to really stretch to like that movie. There was one defining thing that caught and kept me though. The family of killers would catch people, tourcher them horribly, but would taunt the shit out of them! They did a great job of being complete assholes! By the end of the movie I was even screaming "Fuck you's" at my DVD player.
They really do leave you with a horrible feeling that you would LOVE to see them suffer in return. Now, "The Devils Rejects" is the follow up about the same family. And I must say, on all levels this is a classic horror movie! My hat's off to Rob Zombie for working out his problems in the first and just making one kick ass, great movie.
And what I really loved was that he cast some great horror movie icons from back in the day. But they all played characters that were nothing like what they have been cast in the past. My personal favorite is Ken Foree(Dawn of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead remake), who plays Charlie the pimp. A greatly underrated actor and one of the most entertaining characters in the movie. And believe me, it's so unique because yes, my wants were answered.......thats all Ill say about that.
And Ive seen many movies that incorporate the song "Free bird" into the final scene. This movie takes the cake, and is the best damn "Free Bird" ending I have ever seen. If you are a true horror fan, or just want to be highly disturbed for an evening, then this is the movie for you! But I will forworn, yes, it is an EXTREMELY disturbing movie.
