Ive lived in Western PA all of my life. Ive talked to people across the world and learned many new cool things from them. I love to learn about new cultures and people. I guess you can call me a student of human observation.
One interesting thing that I have come across is people asking me about snow. Some people, in other countries and in the US dont get snow. Even more amazing is that some have never seen it at all. I live in an area with constant season changes, I love it. And as much as I bitch about having to shovel out my driveway, the cold, wearing tons of clothing, its still very serene and beautiful.
One of my favorite things to do is go out at night, very late when my neighborhood is quiet and still, and take a walk in the snow fall. Its so peaceful, the snow makes absolutely no sound. And I love to go to mount washington, the overlook over the city, and watch the snow fall across the skyline lights at night. View it falling slowly onto the rivers. It really is one of my favorite things to do. All problems cease to exhist. The world almost comes to a stand still.
I love to watch the Steelers give out brutal punishment to a team in a complete blizzard. The camera shots of a stadium full of my people, dressed in black and gold, drunk off of their asses waving terrible towels likes its their second job. And not caring at all that its 20 degrees or less all around them. They are just caught up in the moment, loving the weather, life, and where they come from. Embracing everything around us, and the pride that comes with where you are from and your history.

Shout outs:
On another note, I wanted to give credit where credit is due. The people Im going to name here are ones whose blogs fly low under the radar like mine, "bottom feeders" as the more popular call us. But I love to read what they write: (handles may be misspelled, sorry about that kids.)
- Corezon: her writing blows me away, very intelligent and very deep.
- texasgal1978: she is sweet and very funny, and my self proclaimed muse appartently.
-MrNuttz05: a newcomer to my little area here. his writing is cool and so is his insight. just one really cool dude.
-TheLilfondler: just like texasgal1978, her posts really make me laugh. and laughter is a great thing.
-humboldthonni- Im really not sure how large her following is. But, just like Corezon, a highly intelligent woman. She is also very classy and well rounded.
-konkali: a goofball through and through. once again, one of those great people to have around when you are down. and although she never really goes too too in depth with herself, she leaves this mystery that drawls you in.

Thank you, Dasher, you are very sweet. I am only impressed I have managed to hide my true goofball nature from the rest of the world, lol, but then again, the blog is young.

Someday I aspire to be sweet like Silky, but it is going to take me a LOT of practice.

thanks for the kind words

I lived in Pa until I was ten. I still remember the crunch of snow under my feet, sledding down the hills with my friends, wearing my cute lil snow suits. It's been about 10 years since I have seen "real" snow and I miss it.

Always smile to hear you talk of your family and your city...such love there. As always, beautiful writing and a beautiful inspiration. I was lucky enough to be with a friend of mine on the day when she first experienced much fun! I love it when you wake up in the middle of the night to find it snowing. I always grab a jacket and shoes and go out walking in it, even though I'm in my PJ's. Everything is so silent, but you can almost hear the slight sound of snowflakes brushing past you.
My face hurts....

my freaky darlings: the pleasure is all mine, really. some people can get carried away with themselves on here. i went through some blogs yesterday of really great people and they were showing alot of appreciation to others.
people who get big heads do have to realize that its your readers who make you, the people who follow and read everyday to see what you have to say. this blogging experience has been a great release for me and have met some wonderful people. but as i cant stress enough, my words really do mean nothing until you read them and give them power. i really do appreciate everyone support and laughter. you just all make my day, my freaky lil ones hahaha. cheers to you!

texasgal: i completely forgot about the crunch! you are so right on that. yesterday, I threw a snowball at a friends bedroom window to get him to come downstairs and let me in. the dumbass opened up the window to chat so i hit him with another one right through the screen. snow exploded everywhere on him and through the window! I found great amusement out of it. I bet him that i could get him like that 5 more times before he gets me.
Score: dasher 2
Friend: 0 (yeah, i got him after that too. hahaha)

Yo Dash, first off thanks for the love, you should have given a shout out to yourself, your BLOG is very idealistic & honest, love you for it... Now, our surroundings & the people that engage in them. [size4]TRUE STORY;[/size} While I was in the military in Georgia, we were taking cover for a massive storm that was about to hit. A soldier by the name of Winston, from some part of Idaho, stood in freakin' awe as LIGHTNING BOLTS struck trees near by. A officer from our unit had to go out & pull this guy into shelter. He was 19 years old & had never saw lighning before.... Unreal!

Dude, I got to get something off of my chest & I am sorry that I have to do this here on your BLOG but you mentioned the fury that goes on in the stands @ a Steelers game & I envy you sooooooo... I am in [size4]DETROIT dude, & not only do our team suck, but we play indoors... Indoors? Football shouldn't be played indoors... Where is the homefield advantage? The elements are part of your home team advantage, i.e. Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Chicago... Teams fear going into those kind of conditions... But a dome???? How cozy for the fans.... & the freakin other team! Just had to vent a lil' bro'...

MrNuttz- greatly appreciate your words, very much so. thank you. and none needed for myself, as Ive said, this is all about you guys. you're the ones who give me words light and power. and for that i could never express enough my thanks.
the lightning thing? Im even more amazed. I could almost honestly picture your look seeing that kid freaking out! That would have shocked the living shit out of me even more than the snow thing. To never see a lightning storm? WOW. That amazes me because I love thunder and lightning storms. Ive even pulled up a chair on the beach during a hurricane and just sat there in awe of the sky dancing crazy patterns and rain pelting me and the lightning striking all around. Wouldnt recommend it, but it was so very cool. I laughed through the whole thing, terrified laughter, but laughter none the less.
As for the stadium thing, I feel your pain man. And no need to appologize for venting. That would piss me off too.
