Master of your own destiny

Well today I thought Id bring up something thats been on my mind for a while now, fate. I hear so many people talk about fate. For the most part, I do believe that things happen for a reason. That certain people come into your life for a purpose, no doubt about that.
But I do not believe that my interactions with others, and the things that I do, are predetermined. There are just too many factors, too many chances to "think outside your personality" for something to be meant to be.
Maybe this little metaphore will clear things up as to my viewpoint.(I suck at this so beware haha!):
Moving though life is like traveling a looooong two lane highway. Fate throws in four way intersections. Now you must choose, which way to take in the intersection. But this is your choice, not fates. I believe that fate puts the options there, but its on us to decide. To blame a situation on fate is just an easy way out of taking responsability for what you do.
I like to believe that we are ALL masters of our own destinies. Karma is also a big thing to me as well. What goes around comes around. Like most, I have alot to regret in my life. Wrong paths taken, choices that Id love to have a "do over" on. But there is no reset button with life. And all of my bad choices are on me, my own accord. Fate put those choices there, but I chose what my destiny would be. However, with the karma beliefe comes the harsh reality of it.
Some day, I will have to attone for what Ive done in life, mistakes that Ive made, and others that I have wronged. We all must face this. No one can say that they have never done wrong.
So I do my best to surround myself with good karma; helping others in need, giving advice, being the best that I can be at what I do. In a hope, with my beliefes, that some day Ill make things right enough to say,
"I am responsible for my destiny. I am responsible for my poor actions and the good ones as well. I hope I have done enough good in my life to set things right. To be deserving of what ever end I must face."
We all must face our ends alone, we all must face ourselves, our daemons in the dark, alone. So.......fate has laid out paths in front of you, people who will touch you in some way or another. Your destiny is in your hands, how will you shape it?

Divinity- thank you for visiting, always nice to see a new face over here. Yes, very much like taking the bull by the horns. Glad you enjoyed it

Efiln- aaaaahhhh I see, come over here just to make some advertisements did you hahahaha. nah just kidding. thanks for letting us over here know about the voting. def going to check it out. you have some good choices on there, should be a tough one. thanks for stopping in dude.

Tiller- yes free will is everything. to be able to control things yourself. I take my own outcomes into my own hands. Ive never said "Ahh, that didnt work out with her. Must have been fate." No no no, it didnt work out with her because we weren't right together. Had too many differences, too much evil history, ect. I think you get my drift lol. Anyway, thank you. That is a great compliment coming from you.

When the time comes for Anubis to weigh your heart against a feather, I know which way the scales will tip. You are a good guy, you cant hide that.

Bleh.. Kharma.. you're doing right because it is.. not because payback.
So here's a thought.. you need two coins when you die to make it across the river styx.. if we only gave someone one coin, would they be forever stuck in limbo?.. speaking of choices and paying for the thinks we've done.

Exactly...fate/destiny places choices or situations in our path, or brings people into our lives...but it is our decision what to do with those things, our choice to make. Whether we shape those experiences into learning opportunities or stumbling blocks. All by choice.

Silky- Yes, very true. You cannot regret but embrace what has already happened, move on, and learn from it. And I think that makes you a great person to put others before yourself. I try to do the same, and did that too much in the past. Have to be careful, because if you dont tend to yourself then you cant help others either.

SisterSaint- Thank you, and can def say the same about you. I do try.

Konkali- yes that is one way of looking at it, no doubt. Very good question about the coins. I dont know honestly, maybe they give you a discount?

curious- exactly my point, we seem to be on the same page here(and with alot of things actually). Things are put in front of us for a reason but we decide what to do with them, with that time. Always master your own destiny. And always learn from the things that you do not master.
