Destructive Mind

A passive mind that wanders too far at times]
Past events and words spoken that haunt and follow,

How does one escape the nature of their own soul,
yet to feel paranoia's grasp from the shadows in the night.

A passive mind that wanders too far at times,
ears that hear too much, eyes that see too much.

Yet he is blind to his own self, his cruelty, his malice, a mouth that voices opinions when he should just keep silent.

And keeps its silence when it should scream out with a set back, and an Iron fist.

A passive mind that wanders too far at times,
a defensive personality always expecting a downward spiral that will not come.

Yet to see ones own downfall before it arrives, Is worse than the pain of a thousand and more deaths.

Because it is a death of ones own mind. To defeat ones own self is torment beyond words.

So he decides,

He walks alone. And will do so until the final days come,

When his soul can be finally free, when all of his questions can be answered.

Lay your head to rest now Boy, For the end is far from near, time to delve into the darkness yet again, set your mind right,

or as best you can.

A long journey ahead, no longer perilous, for He's already lost it all.

And one that has nothing to lose,

Walks a different road.

Lay your head to rest now Boy,

For darkness awaits you. A darkness of your own creation.

Beat it or be consumed by it......

Im sorry for the change, I really am. And actually, I am a coward. Just a different kind. Ive always appreciated you keeping it real with me. And actually, your comments to me lately have put some shit into perspective.

I really do need to reflect on this..

oh papi, cowards don't fight injustice much less enter THE hamster cage unarmed. Just be where you are and things have a way of working out. {=}

You know something? Most of us learn more about ourselves from the dark times than the bright ones. Can't know joy if you don't know pain.

Liked this, dude....good stuff.

Both the Buryat and Yakut of Siberia as well as various tribes in the Amazon Basin believe that if you embrace the demons they turn into angels. I don't know if it is germane; it's just what I thought of after reading your poem.
