Avoiding disaster...

So I've been working on this story(might even be a book if I get lucky lol) for a few weeks now. Ill write a bit, then read over it, edit the shit out of it. Then write some more, then start back at the front and re-edit, and so on.

In a few weeks, I got about 17 pages deep in what I have been doing. Well, I loaded my disk that it was saved on yesterday and my computer decided it needed to automatically reformat my disk. If you know what that is and does, it readjusts your disk to work with what programs you have on your desktop....and it erases everything on the disk!

Yep, the entire story gone. HOWEVER, I have heard of this tradgedy striking many others I know, losing sometimes a whole years worth of work. I expect stupid shit to happen to me well....because it just does. Luckily, I presaved all of my work in my email account and printed out a hard copy.

Disaster Avoided.

Always expect shit to happen....because it does!

End transmission......

damn dude that does suck! Know what you mean there, once you get things put down and out of your head, then have it all go bye bye. its EXTREMELY difficult to get motivated to that moment again.

Hence my preference on writing shit down with pen and paper. The only disaster I have to avoid that way is my kids getting a hold of it and doodling all over.

Buddist Master tells me "All suffering is due to attachment. Do not place value on possession and suffering will be gone."

So I had to kill the Yoda-imitating S.O.B.

I feel much better now.

Smart move on the backup... Good luck on your book deal.
