Not so soon, daddy

Well, I've seen ghosts, felt them, and talked to lots of people about them. Now my daddy last night joked maybe he'd come back and visit me.
Not funny, dad! He was of course joking, but given the gravity of his current illness and the possibility he could die, he was both laughing and serious at the same time. He knows and enjoys hearing about our research and the book work (parapsychology, ghosts, hauntings) and laughingly told me last night that should he die, he was going to be visiting me. I have no doubt he will. We do have a code, a very visual one, so that I will have validation. nevertheless, I informed him he will not have to be doing that anytime soon. Still, this is the absolute first time my mom or dad has ever personally addressed death, the afterlife, or my current activities. It was a little unnerving.
They've drained a couple of liters of fluid from the the right lung area, and there's some around the abdomen, and the pneumonia was large. He's not out of the woods and it is enough to make me and mom nervous. Jumping on the web for a few minutes for an escape breaks a little tension. I'm so glad I don't have to worry about getting back to work or making a boss happy. My schedule was already fairly unpredictable and now I have no intention of leaving my dads side until he's out of the woods.
If you've got a loved one and they are ill, appreciate them now, tell them so, and don't wait until things look bleak. I never have waited and I'm so glad.
