Writing Style

Ok, just wondering, do you have any quirky little writing style that you've tried to do something about? I'm the queen of exclamation points!!! One of my buddy's calls me "Excalmation Point Girl"...aka, EPG. Then, I've also got the "..."'s that I use between thoughts...not really a new sentence, but just a little pause.....you know.....

So, got any of them in your style???

I used to never use apostrophes in any situation. But, I dont do that anymore.

Ugh, my college freshman english prof. graded our final almost SOLELY on the 4 different uses of apostrophes!!!! We had to write a paper arguing our grade and then she graded the paper putting HUGE weight on the use of apostrophes...like I remember now?!?!? Even as a friggin' teacher!

All of the above and dashes "-" to separate my thoughts in sentences. Used to drive my English teacher nuts!

The damn dash is so hard to get right....with the underscore on the same key...which one do you need to use the shift bar with??? Probably the exact reason I resorted to the .....

the Compact Oxford English Dictionary says:

ellipsis ( pronounced /ilipsiss/ )

• noun (pl. ellipses /ilipseez/) 1 the omission of words from speech or writing. 2 a set of dots indicating such an omission.

– ORIGIN Greek elleipsis, from elleipein ‘leave out’.

EC says:
So, you go greek!

Yeah, I just realized within the past year or so that I do it. Don't know if it's something I developed recently...or if I just never noticed before!
