Do you think people were really meant to be monogamous by nature? Would you say men are less inclined to be content in a long-term monogamous relationship than woman, or do you think that stereotype is becoming less and less true as time goes on?

Animals are driven by their hormones to spread their genetic pool, that's why the chicks of birds, even those that mate for life, are not always the result of their mating.

Mankind, while evoved in consciousness (really, it only seems like we're not) is still driven by those hormonal imperitives. The tests of how we react to hormones, looks and contact prove this, I think.

This doesn't condone cheating, a commitment is a commitment, but perhaps we need to adjust our attitudes to the odd daliance.

They have a much healthier attitude towards this sort of thing in Europe.

Oh, and forget the elaborate lace and silk. A girl in a t-shirt and panties - oh, like in your picture - is just, well, yummy

The stereotype is becoming less true. Just look at the statistics on infidelity/cheating. Women are catching up to their male counterparts

I've never cheated, but I've never had a relationship last 2 years. I do know that in some of my relationships I wanted my girlfriend even more than when we met. We all have urges and we all make choices. If I don't want to lose the one I'm with, I choose to be faithful. It doesn't mean I'm not attracted to other women. If I'm unhappy in the relationship, I end it. I'm quite good at being single.

having been monogamous for 9 years, i would say it is not "natural" because it was ultimately to stifling for me. i dunno if it would be different if my husband was as much of a freak as me; fortunately tho i don't have to cheat, cos my husband is ok with me not being monogamous ... and well, he mostly is, cos he's not that interested in sex anyway.

so, i think it depends on your sex drive whether or not you can hack it.

I have never cheated on anybody in my life. I've never even so much as kissed a second woman if I was involved with one in the first place.

On the other hand, I've dated two women that have cheated on me.

I think that as times move on, and in todays "disposable" relationship times, it's just a commonplace activity that is equally participated in by men and women alike.

That doesn't make it right.

It just means that too many people say "what's good for the goose is good for the gander."
